I have been to CR three times and always bring a suitecase full of stuff to give-a-way. It seems to add a lot of goodwill and always stops the chicas for asking for the propina(?). I have given things to the taxi drivers and hotel staff also.

Last trip I brought a couple special things for my personal favorite and the ninos. They gifts were well received.

I was wondering what you more experienced guys with special favorites have brought for gifts? Of course since space and weight are limitation....you can't bring much.

toys for the K*ds are always a big hit (age/gender-appropriate):

-stuffed animals for the little ones
-toy truck for the 3 yr boy
-barbie for 3 yr old girl

and some toys for your favorita:

-vibrators are always good
-lingerie (whatever you'd like to see her in... thong thong thong)
-perfume

this has been discussed at nauseum, see this thread: https://costaricaticas.com/phpBB2/viewto ... ight=gifts

Scott,
I noticed that a couple of the threads on the subject have been started by you. :P

Last week I took something to my favorite for her two sons (6 & 9).
I got it at Wal-Mart for about $6.
It's a hardcover book about 9X11 called "My First Dictionary".

It was in English (she speaks some) and was in large print with illustrations for many of the words. She said they loved it because they want to learn English. I think she will be able to get something out of it too.

Do you vets agree that bringing gifts is a phase most guys go through? Not talking about the occasional thoughtful chica/ninos gift but the "suitcase full", Victoria's Secret, etc. phase like Scottp1063 mentioned. I did it too early on and it was fun too see the chicas reactions but hardly take anything anymore unless one requests something from the states. (Which reminds me I have to find a certain xsmall t-shirt before mi próximo viaje.) :)

Paco-
You are right about that. I used to bring a lot of nonsensical trinkets down. Now, instead of $3 earings, I bring down $50 sneakers!
My advise----no repeat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I think it is a phase most will cycle thru over time. It is a true sign of turning into the Pro Monger Paco. I use to take gifts some years ago but I finally came to grips about why I was doing this. If one wants to keep one I could understand but it is nice to see the reactions. I realized that I will always be there to sample different ones so why bother after all it is $$ they want so why complicate the matter  ?

It seems to me that so many are so cute you just want to do something special for them but the more cute ones you do it starts to sink in that there will always be thousands of more cute ones so really why bother? The sex is the same either way has been my experience. Many times I believe they will try to spin their webb on you once they see you like them a lot.
