Hey Guys: I am currently here in San Jose and have spent most of my time here, fighting cardiac chest pains in and out of the hospital. I fly home early tuesday on AA 1700 via Miami, Chicago and Green Bay. I want to avoid the power walk at Miami and Chicago. How do I arrange one of those Skycap fellows with a scooter to haul me and my bags to where I need to go. Thanks for your help and your friendship.

Gringo Malo,
Sorry to hear about your plight. I guess it would only be worse to be sick and actually be IN Green Bay.

Tell AA when you check in that you will require a cart upon arrival in Miami and Chicago. You could also call them ahead of time to make sure it gets in the computer and attached to your reservation. That's all it SHOULD take.

Be prepared to tip the driver $5 or $10.

Hey Gringo Malo,be well my friend. Please let us know how you are when you get home and get treatment. Witling's advice is correct as far as I know.

Hey Guys: Been home a week and am still weak, but making progress. Got really great care at Cima Hospital. Got an Angioplaty and stent installed. Only had to pay them 16k to be able to leave. Not to worry tho, my insurance will reimburse me. This ain't my first rodeo and it certainly won't be my last. Thanks for your concern. PS: came home to a fried hard drive on my computer...so I am currently shopping for a new one.

Hey Gringo Malo...glad to hear you are getting better. Maybe it's time to move your ass down here to CR where the stress level is lower. Your only stress you have here is which chica to do today.... Decisions...decisions...decisions Be well my friend

Hola Gringo Malo,

Can you clarify what you mean by 16K? Are we talking dollars or colones? Did you find out what the total bill was for this procedure? Appreciate your answer as I am living in CR, however, luckily not a medical user so far!!

Thank you. Flyboy

Clarification: My total bill at Cima for Hospital and Doctors was 16 K US. It is high by CR standards..but low by US standards. Cima is a state of the art hospital on an even par with the best US Hospitals. It is immaculate and uncrowded. I could have been transferred to Hospital Mexico and probably paid a lot less, but also would habve been crowded in with all the others. Also, I don't know if Hospital Mexico has a Cath Lab. When I returned to pick up my records, I spoke with the US veterans service officer who has an office in Cimas' Lobby. He said the US VA regularly pays an equivelant amount for that procedure. I was hospitalized for 4 days...2 of which were in the ICU. I think that I will be looking into buying med insurance in CR for future visits. I have spent about 1/4th of my time there in the past 2 plus years. I've heard that the insurance is very reasonable. Thanks to all for your good wishes.
