just got back my confirmation for my first trip for next year.
rates went up approximate 10.00 for a basic room which is about
25% jump. Maybe -admin 1 -can cut us a better deal before 2007
arrives because we are such a large group?

Your math is a bit off but whatever.

So the rate is 61$ now? I was given the rate of 51$, and never heard anything about the rate going up.

If true that is truely bad business practice. Their better off saying CRT get the phuck out.

these new rates will be for next year
the increase- i don't have the breakdown for every type of room.

all through 2006 same old rates
which were good for what we were getting

i emailed reservations to get break down for 2007 for each type room

We have had n information regarding 2007 rate increases so before we get on another lets bash the Prez thread... I suggest we wait for any actual confirmation from the Mgt to Us as a group and our perspective rates and discounts..

ENOUGH SAID!

"next year the rate for standard single
rooms would be $61+tax with CRT discount" (or corporate discount)

Regards,

Reservations.

this is the email i got back from prez.
the studio goes up from 42 to 52.00 which is where i got the 25%
increase standard room looks like 20% increase
from 51 to 61.00

No bashing, but since they haven't talked with you yet..we'll see
if anything changes from above for us

JMac you know I like to bash the Prez as much as anyone. But if they're running near full occupancy all year, as they appear to be, and they DIDN'T raise their rates, THAT would be bad business practice. They're in this too make money just as you would be. Or do you plan to give away free drinks to everyone that walks in the door when you buy Kamur?

No but any "good" business sticks with its TRUE customers no matter what happens.

Yes they are in it for cash, everyone is, but it seems dumb altering things just like that. Sure the 49 to 51$ increase was fine its 2$, but 10$ is quite the jump for a hotel.

Oh well I dont really care, just saying. I go where the best service/rate is. I dont believe in ripping off the people that helped make your business what it is today.

No offence but its like when the SL upped their prices. CRT obviously helped make them what they are, then they upped the price.

YO Inflation Dudes:

Yea, kinda slaps one in the face when prices go up. Come to think about it....that real fine (rated 8 or 9 ) chica you got three years ago for $60. bucks now wants $80 to $100 or even more. Also, the Pres is not the only digs in SJ that have raised rates. No, I'm not defending that hotel but perhaps you fellows might notice inflation in other areas in CR. The resorts on the coast, the price for buying per sq. meter of land, housing, fuel, taxi, tours, dining, air fare.....shit, the list goes on. Yes, myself as well as a number of you have voiced concerns about the increasing costs of visiting our play land to the south.

Also remember, the tico (special rate) inflation rate is less than the gringo inflation rate in colones but in percentage it may still vary in comparison.....interesting.

I have to sit here and chuckle at our protests of a $10 or $11 (not to forget the tax added) increase in rates of a hotel room where one has difficulty getting reservations. You bet your sweet ass they are good businessmen....supply and demand.

After my U.S. health insurance went up at an average of 43% a year for four years until last year.... I dropped the bastards. Certainly cuts into my mini vodka dinero. Yep, I'm on my own now but that's life. Geezzz, if only they would have only gone up only 20%......Naw, still would have pulled the plug. Got a new policy now. It's called the 357 magnum plan. It's a "one shot" deal but takes care of problemas and expense along with no stay in the hopsital for a dying illness.

Hopefully I can pay the additional dinero costs for a hotel and fun expenses in SJ before I have to cash in on my "policy."

Sometimes one just has to put things in perspective.

Some of you are paying a $25 chica fee per visit at other hotels and taking two girls a day. Using that figure if you stay at the Prez and pay the $61 (which will still be a good rate) your room is only costing about $11 per night. Throw in the free breakfast and you can't go wrong!!!!!

Do not know many guys on this board paying those kind of chica fees. Many guys stay at the HDR and pay $10.00 but $25.00. Don't think so.

I ONCE AGAIN STATE that until there is some definitive price increase that is posted I suggest you start a separate discussion on this....

The Prez has given us no indication of any price increase of this nature and if there is YOU WILL ALL BE THE 1st to know....

With all the bashing the prez has taken over Dress Codes & subsequent rumors on price increases that are not confirmed, I wouldn't be surprised if they do tell us to take our business elsewhere....

AGAIN PLEASE REFRAIN FROM THE banter that is of the rumor nature as I for one do not want to make enemies of a long standing sponsor who has been truly incredibly supportive of CRT & its members.

THANK YOU!
