I got an email today from Pimsleur touting a "Quick & Simple" Spanish course for $19.95.
Now I know the Spanish I course is usually over $200 so what could possibly be included in this?
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/searc ... %20spanish

On the link below the offer is listed FOUR TIMES! Anybody know what this really entails?

The $19.95 version contains only 4 audio cd's. probably an appetizer for the full blown version which contains 16 cd's, plus book, $173 FROM Amazon. Look in the Amazon site they also have the $19.95 version for about $12.

I would also be interested in feedback. Good luck, Viper

Wit, this is just the first 8 lessons...

It looks like this has replaced the "Spanish in 10 Days" which was the first 10 lessons for 19.95 at Barnes & Noble- http://search.barnesandnoble.com/bookSe ... 076074419X

About 2 years ago I bought the complete Pimsleur I, IIa, IIb, III and IV in the MP3 format from a guy in England. As I remember it was about $30.00 then. Emailed him, got the info, sent him the money (think was pay pal but do not remember) and got the stuff within about a week.

Not sure he is still around but you might try reaching him at:

cheap_pimsleur_mp3@hotmail.com

Think his name is Phil. Good luck

PS: There is an underscore between cheap & pimsleur and also between pimsleur and mp3.

Thanks for the feedback.
I probably already have enough Spanish skill to start where the intro ends.
I was just curious what it really included. Actually for $19.95 that would be good for a complete newbie.

I also received a very generous offer from another CRT member on the complete course.

Borrow and burn. Check if your local library owns a copy.

even better get on lime wire and download free. If you believe in file sharing why not.

If you join audible.com you get one free download. (it's $9.95/year) I joined and downloaded Pimsleur I, joined again and downloaded Pimsleur II, and joined a third time and downloaded number III. It's hard to beat that deal. All 3 sets for $30. I burned them all to cd's (about 40 cd's total) but you can download them to your mp3 player as well.

Fellas,

I'm burned 10 copies of the Pimsleur Essential Spanish I II & III, all 90 lessons, zipped up nicely as MP3's. I'll leave them at the desk at the SL after breakfast on the 26th of June, just go ask whoever is at the desk for a copy. First come first served. Please only one copy per member(pun intended).... :D

Thought I'd bring this back to the top. I'm going down and staying at the SL this Sunday. I have made 10 CD's of Pimsluer Essential Spanish 1, 2 & 3, all 90 lessons.

You guy's are ALWAYS advised to LEARN SPANISH to enhance your travels. So here's your opportunity.

They will be available at the desk at the SL on June 26th. First come first served. I'd like to hear somebody(s) wants them before I drag them down.

There are 8 CD's left at the desk at the Sportsmens. Just ask for one. Sorry some of the desk personnel didn't realize they were there. So if you asked and they didn't know what you were talking about, try again. Now they all know, well I think they do. Just tell them the CD's are on the shelf in the storage room by the front desk....

I just installed Rosette Stone and it is
way better than Pimsleur. Rosette is
all in one. Pinsleur isn't so so so bad
though, but RS involves pictures,
written spanish as well voice and it allows
you to turn off one of the 3 so you can
test yourself.

If example, you can elect to turn off
the written words so you hear the voice
and then you have to select which
picture of 4 pictures is being talked
about.

It allows a lot of ways to learn.

I downloaded using a file sharing
program, but it took a while to get
it all since it is huge.

For the non-techie, it may be better
to pay for it. It is so good that I
feel a little guilty for downloading it.
