has anybody negotiated a better rate at a hotel for a longer stay?

Before I lived here I always negotiated with the hotels for a better rate based on the length of my stay. The shortest stay was 10 days and the longest was 28 days. Never had a hotel not come down in their rate quote when I reminded them I was going to be a "long term" guest. Most would also throw in a free breakfast as part of the deal.

I think most will give you a little bit better rate for a stay of at least one month. The Hemingway did.

Think any hotel will bend over backward if you plan on staying for a month. Have negotiated a great rate with much shorter stays.

Any hotel that only offered a "little bit better rate" for a one month stay would effectively end my negotiation with them.

My shortest stay was 10 nights but think anything over 7 nights is a good negotiating position. Good Luck

Does anybody have pics of the Castillo rooms? Their website has some pics but it doesn't say which is which.

I am trying to decide between the standard room and the deluxe. What are the differences?

Gracias.

I've only stayed at the Castillo once,April 06. As far as I know the standard rooms are in the old part of the hotel.Thin walls and no A/C. The deluxe rooms are in the new section and have A/C. The rooms are OK,nothing spectacular.I had room # 16 with kitchenette. The bathroom is a little on the small side and there's no deadbolt on the inside of the door. the staff is very nice, the rooms are clean. The Presidente would be my first choice, but I'm staying at the Castillo for 4th of July weekend. Hope this helps. There's a recent review in this same section.

The deluxe rooms are the ones in the back end with the small kitchenetes. the rest of the rooms are standard. I always get the standard room. They all have AC, but do NOT get room 8. It is the noisiest one there located on the street practically.

I was in three different rooms during my recent stay. All were on the second floor of the new section. Basically, I really liked the place, especially considering the price. My only minor complaint, other than those already mentioned, was with the tile floor. Occasionally, during recreational activities, the bed would start sliding back and forth on the floor. It felt kind of like we were doing it on a "Slip 'n Slide"... :)

I love the spring action beds they have there. You just do a quick push up maneuver, and your chica bounces up to you. Kinda fun!! :P

Hotel Castillo is probably the best hotel for the money. The rooms are okay and some do not have a/c, my room did not. But I had no problem because at times it gets pretty cold at night that you may need another blanket. It can get noisey at times but I never really experienced anything were it prevented me from going to sleep. I had room #3 on my last trip, right outside are several couches and a small desk and computer where people can hang out. well on my last trip there were about 30 college K*ds staying at Castillo and it was intereresting listening to them talk all night about the working-chicas. Some of they guys were tellking the girls about there trip to Sportsmand's Lodge and how they met these friendly chicas and how they thought they were going to maybe get lucky, untill the chicas brought up the question of price. There were a lot of funny and interestng conversations going on late into the morning. I was probably the only monger at Hotel Castillo at the time.

The only real negative thing at Casstillo is how friendly the staff is there. Martha, Maria, Patricia and Art are really great people and will go out of their way to help you out with whatever you need, the problem is after getting to know them well I kinda felt guilt at times bring chicas back to my room, for whatever reasons. It was not a good feeling. I didn't mind late at night when, forget his name, works the front desk.

Two different "Victors" work the night shift.........Victor, "the Russian" and Victor, "the Tico." The younger Victor's father is Tico and his mother is Russian. Victor was born in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Yes, all the staff at the Castillo are nice people.

Patricia, aka Patri, is my favorita there! I've never had any problems bringing chicas back to the room. Why feel guilty? I have gotten some wicked sly grins of approval from her though! I'll be there Sept12-19th......the Rabbit
