BUT...

Maybe I've never had the problem because I don't usually pick up the chicas that look like straight up hooker, half naked and all. I pass on a lot of attractive chicas who walk around half exposed. Why pay for it when I"ve basically seen her naked already.
What's the big deal?
Apparently you haven't been reading the actual complaints, most chicas being denied entry aren't dressed like street whores but usually in typical chica wear. The guard may say "no bare shoulders" or "that skirt's too short," then for some reason others have no problem, the policy is obviously not fairly enforced- like this post by none other than yourself

Guess her ass hanging out of her "tiny skin-tight shorts" didn't make your date "half-exposed" or look like a hooker (as you define above)?? :?

I'm at the Presidente right now typing this from the lobby and I can asure everyone reading this board that the dress code policy is in full effect and being strictly enforced. As I was checking in on Friday a board member's chica was being denied access although I felt her attire did not differ from any other female guest staying at the hotel. The Presidente does not want mongers parading chicas in and out of the lobby all day and night (especially during the day hours when more guest are checking in and families are more prevalent).

Sorry for the bad news but as stated before if you don't like it the best alternative is to stay somewhere else. Also, as VB stated the DR girls are carrying sweaters and are aware of the policy. Both girls I have brought back to the hotel the last few nights were not bothered by security but were also fully clothed and wearing sweaters and it was after 9 p.m.

Part of what makes a hotel a good hotel lies in what extent they are willing to go to please thier guests. These knuckleheads have decided that they are making more $ off of a handfull of whiners than from thousands of mongers. The management of this place is a joke!. SL is a much better alternative. Also, the Del Rey is a pretty good deal. You don't have to even go outside and deal with walking , cabs , beggars, etc. That alone makes paying a $10 chica fee worth it. Besides, the hotel should be making a few bucks off the deal for serving as the meat market we all enjoy so much. IMO , prez & Sleep Inn don't deserve our business.

I have spoken to perhaps five guys over the last few days who have had problems of the same sort. While I did not witness the incidents, it seems to be a pervasive problem...

I was wondering if they are more tolerant at night when most tourists aren't around, but I also like a daily afternoon chica so hope it won't be a major hassle. Guess I'll find out in a few days, maybe I won't have to switch hotels to have the fun I so much deserve... :?

Shawn4DelRey I think there's more than a handful, in fact that must be most of the hotels business by now or they wouldn't be hassling our crowd so much, they must be aware some of us will begin to stay elsewhere and they probably hope it is the troublemakers. As posted before the Presidente is now quite popular on Expedia, Travelocity, Trip Advisor  , etc.. and rooms start at 70.00- 80.00 on those sites so the discount-room mongers that make all kinds of noise at night and parade young prostitutes in and out all day are probably complained about more than we know and being seen as more trouble than they are worth. My last stay there were some drunken idiots whooping it up in the halls at 3AM probably woke the whole floor up, it's those morons  making things hard for all us "well behaved" hobby enthusiasts.

For those staying at the Presidente, you might consider going to Normstroms or the like to shop for a wrap around one size fits all skirt that is knee high. I think you can find a very thin one that you could carry with you very easily.

The girls often do have sweats, but they are often short and so exposes the belly so often what they have isn't any good.

It is true that the Presidente is turning away chicas that are dressed like non-working girls. I guess they sight of seeing really old guys escorting 20 year old girls around the hotel (usually obvious sign of a hooker) is what they are discouraging.

PacoLoco,
I am very aware of the problem, it's a problem yes but you have to look at it from their POV as well. It's business, nothing else. They still allow chicas to enter just with a strict policy. And yeah they're probably taking it to far but someone has given the order and the staff must follow through.

As far as my novia, she was heading to the gym and was wearing her skimmpy workout attire. I was surprised that nothing was said. But I also take under consideration that we do not look like and odd couple; old man with young chica. I am six years older than her and we always walk in talking and laughing. My case may not be the same as an older gentleman walking in with a chica talking sign language trying to communicate.

Also something I witnessed at the Presidente that would probably piss you off as well..

A Latino family was checking into the Presidente and the daughter of one of the family members strayed away from the reception area only to have an old drunken grinog proposition her in the lobby. You want to talk about HOT!! The father and what looked like the Uncle and Brothers wanted to kill the gringo. He is lucky he disappeared after the chica was insulted. The family was HOT! They stayed in the lobby for a while hoping to see the gringo come back into the hotel. I felt bad for the whole family especially the chica who looked to be like 16 years old.

Sometimes we Phuck things up for ourselves.

I love staying at the Presidente, but for my money Hotel Castillo is the best bet in town.

I also enjoy staying at the Hotel Presidente, and look forward to my stay from the 5th thru the 16th there. Understanding the Chica Bullheadness, I did not want nor need any sh*t on my up coming lust fest, so I asked the Hotel for the low down and this is the Hotels reply....

Hotel Presidente <sales@hotel-presidente.com> wrote:
Dear Mr.Williams:
Greetings from Hotel Presidente.

It’s a pleasure to help you with your request:
Recently, the Hotel Presidente instituted a dress code
for our guests with the intent of maintaining a
pleasant and comfortable atmosphere in the public
areas of the hotel. While we understand that clothing
is a personal matter, highly reflective of individual
taste and style, inappropriate clothing can impact the
level of decorum at the hotel. To this end, our dress
code is intended as a guideline for guests.
Since every piece of clothing and its wearer are
different, decisions on what is appropriate is left to
the discretion of the manager on duty. The manager’s
decision is always final. Management reserves the
right to refuse entry on a case by case basisWhile in the hotel’s public areas, guests are
requested to:
- Wear shoes at all times
- Avoid sleeveless tops
- Avoid low-cut or very revealing clothing
- For female guests, avoid extremely short
skirts or shorts
- Keep stomachs and backs covered
- Avoid mesh tops and swimming attire
- Avoid clothing with racist or discriminatory
insignias or logos

We thank you for your understanding and cooperation in
this matter.

Regards,
William Vargas
Reservations.

Forgive me, but this is pure BULLSH*T.

What ever the reason...it still sucks....Pooter :? :? :?

Same letter posted a couple months ago along with the reasoning behind it, in this previous thread- https://costaricaticas.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11014

The current updates are useful and hopefully this thread won't turn into the same discussion and bitching we already had in that thread.

If that is the case PacoLoco, then that would make “The Presidente Hotel's dress code email,” nothing more then a FORM LETTER..

Why would Whore-Central decide that it has to have a moral conscience :?: ….:shock::shock:

The reason leads me to go back a few threads as to what has motivated this change.

In all honesty …The Hotel Prez is trying to distance themselves from its long term Mongering guest and are now seeking the Phat Eco-Tourist's $$$'s, that is the true motivator: With that said.... Then it’s now time to look else….

I have enjoyed all of my stays at the Prez, but I neither want nor need some Tico veiw of what is morally right to wear or not...
Enough of this BullSh*t...
My Folding Cash... spends ANYWHERE…..

Just maybe...When things get lean$$$ again for the Prez, they just might reconsider their moral dress code BS..But for me,....That will be to late....

.I see changes on the way…:evil::evil:

PS: Thank you PocoLoco for the thread update..... ....................................................................Pooter 8) 8) 8)

If the Presidente didn't want our business they would have taken away the discount offer. Its still in place and is one of the best $$ deals in town.
