Well after reading the long post of our CRT brither who discovered CR on his bachelor party, and reading the several replies I got to thinking. Marriage in general is a 50-50 bet at best. As it has been said before factor in cultural differences, language, socio economic and P4P and I am sure the percentages spiral down.

We are very quick to say the issue is the P4P gal, and I dont disagree. However the purpose of this non-scientific poll is to see how we all fare. If a women were to look at us as marriage material what % chance do they have for success (I know several will never do it again and that makes sense if that is what you want).

PS Please feel free to comment as well. If you are widowed, sorry I dont have options for you

my dos colones:

divorce is painful, recovery time is needed
divorce hurts K*ds, K*ds are resilient
divorce is socially acceptable, some "friends" will ostracize you

if you are a monger at heart and don't intend to change, only marry to have/raise Ch*ldren.

Yeah I know, but in theory Im not single, I have a girlfriend. Prior commitments yada yada.

A girlfriend is a wife without the law involved.

This poll was simply looking at the CRT marriage / divorce success rate vs statistical norms

So far (and I am assuming divorces of 2 or more taken at 2) we have:

6 "currently married people"
11 marriages that have ended in Divorce

As such the current CRT success rate is less than 35%

(PS I would have created more poll options but it wouldnt allow me)

So if you have more than one girl friend you are a polygamist but a legal one :?:  .

What no "gay marriage" option for Latinoheat? (Ok quit picking on LH, he is still upset over the untimely demise of his favorite gay mobster "Vito" on the Sopranos)

yes Handy I would also think the chances of successful marriages (whatever that means) for the type of guys that hang out in places like CRT would be below the average. :?

We are now at about 31% ... and that doesnt factor in the more than 2 or more than 1 divorces from the 2 categories

I would have to disagree with Paco. Now, I might be rationalizing to justify my behavior, but I think hanging out here and going to Costa Rica makes my marriage work. I don't mind walking across the desert to make it to the Oasis, but if no Oasis??? Marraige 365 days a year would never work for me, but 340 or so, and 25 days in Costa Rica is a great mix!

au contraire (for the french canucks), I succesfully escaped my hell-hole.

Success could be becoming free again.

Go to run, I have a date with a Venezuelan in my fair city. Hope she puts out.

Nice!

Well now at an upper cap of 27% we can say, non-scientifically that if you are a CRTer considering the plunge your liklihood of staying married is 1/2 of American norms ...

Well Handy how do you define "success" in this poll? Maybe divorcing me and taking (at least) half my shit IS success for her....
And does a married guy sneaking around phucking hookers at every opportunity constitute a "succesful" marriage? Just wondering...

Paco you back wooded, barely knuckles off the ground man (jk :) )

Read my previous reply. I am simply comparing the number of marriages that last the institution vs divorce vs american norms.

I am not trying to imply good vs bad marriages etc etc
