Quick questions about getting out of Gulch Land.

Is El Pueblo a neighborhood? If so, how large?

I can get a cab there. BUT, are there cabs to come back to DR?

Guess I am asking about how easy it is to go there, hang out and get home.

Thanks. P

Peter,

I don't know if Pueblo is a "neighborhood" per se, but it is a conglomerate of souvenir shops, restaurants, pizza shops and dance halls, each playing one sort of music or another. It is interesting to see......loaded with hundreds of young people dancing in the evening hours. I believe that either Wednesday night or Thursday night is designated as "ladies night," which makes it a good night to go. The one night I was there, it seemed I was the only Gringo in the place. Even though I was there with a chica friend, I think I could have done well with the young ladies, as it seemed that to a degree, they were coming on to me. The place is extremely loud and smokey with cigarette smoke and otherwise. It is maybe a 10 minute or less cab ride from the gulch area and yes, when you are ready to leave, there is always plenty of cabs parked on the street out front.....in fact, too many.... to the point that your cab driver has to wait for some of them to clear out so he can navigate through the line of cabs. It will be no problem for you getting a cab back to the Del Rey. It is a worthwhile experience that I think you will enjoy. I'm sure you can get more info by using the search function on this site.
