Has anyone eaten fairly recently at the restaurant on the top (17th floor)
of the Holiday Inn? Is it open now? I ate there a few times back in 1998
and 1999, and it was great! Good service (for CR), great food and of course a great view. It was a little expensive for CR. I know it closed
around 2000, but I heard that it reopened a couple of years ago. I think it was called the Marabel or Mirabel.

I heard they had a nice, inexpensive lunch buffet there, where many Tico office workers go to have lunch. My Tica friend who works at the bank told me about this. Anybody have any input?

I think the inexpensive lunch buffet is at the "Tropicana Coffee Shop" which is on the same floor as the lobby.

The restaurant on the 17th floor is called the "El Mirador".

I have never eaten at either so can not comment on the food, price or service

I was up there in March. I did not eat they were not open yet, but there was a lot of staff getting it ready to open for the day. I took some photos. Good view

i just stayed at the Holiday Inn fron 6-24 to 6-27. Ate the breakfast buffet from the 17th floor. It was average and overpriced. The buffet at Key Largo was much better and cheaper. The food overall at the Holiday Inn was at best O.K. but the view was spectacular.
