Gentlemen:
Word has been passed down to us from the Amon Plaza through the Casino to us that as a temorary measure all bookings going forward that the Hotel now has a $25.00 Chica fee. We apologize for any inconvienience this will cause and we certainly will be working with the Casino Paradiso and the Mgt of the Amon plaza to rectify this. NOTE THIS DOES Not apply to reservations already booked!

This is not a Casino policy and Nixon and the crew are working hard as well to get this waived for our and their Casino guests.

Again we hope this is a temporary measure, but we wanted to let you know going forward where we stand here. We certainly are not happy about this and will do our best to get this taken care of. In the interim, please utilize our chica friendly hotels that have been so happy to our CRT brothers as guests.

Thank you.

Seems the success of the Sleep Inn is influencing other hoteliers. The days of monger friendly hotels seems to be fading.

Sounds like an oportunity for us ex-pats. Maybe we could rent out our apartments to mongers in need. But, we'd have to join Circus on the sidewalk for our sleep those nights...
Hummmmm, maybe the spare room would be a better idea.

Not say "I told you so" BUT when the Sleep Inn started doing well, and the Presidente started giving mongers problems over the dress code,,I predicted that the Amon Plaza (Clarion) would be next. I thought they would discontinue our CRT discount but I guess they did a similar thing by charging an exorbitant chica fee. These nice places offer things to attract our kind of traverlers UNTIL they figure they don't need us any longer. The surprising thing here is that both the Pres. and the Amon decided to discourage us from staying there right before the rainy season. One would think the change in strategy would be better implimented at High Season.
Hey think of the upside of this....you can probably bring in the chicas naked as long as you pay the hotel the blood money.

It don’t think it’s a problem. If some hotels tighten their guest policies some other entrepreneur looking to make a buck will take advantage of the market. I still stay at the Presidente and have no problems. The only one chica policy is not a problem for me and I enjoy the service and staff at the Presidente.

I’ve already booked my room for the October trip. I even will have the master suite for a few nights! So, if your in CR in October and staying at the Prez pm me and we’ll work on having a party!

Unfortunately these things can not be helped when the wrong person gets into a position of power and make poor business decisions. We are working with the Casino Paradiso / Amon to try to resolve all this...

In the interim, had an opportunity last night to attend a pre-opening party at Hotel M Last night. Myself, Casa V (Tony), and about 20 other invited guests along with about 30 chicas got a tour of the facility and enjoyed some bocas and cocktails. It literally blew me away and thats pretty tough to do. They are looking at opening soon, so stay tuned for an announcement. http://www.hotelmcostarica.com/

As Scottp said, one hotels mistake is opportunity elsewhere. I can tell you this Hotel M is going to be a CRT destination for those willing for a bit of a more upscale feel, privacy and just outside the downtown area. Stay Tuned.

Hotel M, formerly known as Hotel La Mansion, will be a great place. I met Scott and his on the scene partner a few months back and they really assisted me well. They are good guys and I wish them the best of it all in their adventure.

Have a Great Day,

Dave

Hummm, lets see; in the last couple of months we have the following:

1. Presidente enforces a very strict dress code for the chicas.
2. Chica fee at the Sleep in goes way up.
3. Hotel Gran Via closes.
4. Amon Plaza increases chica fees.
5. Even one of the Jaco hotels goes to 25.00

Until the "M" is opened, the only one I see benifiting is Big John of the DR Hotel. He's gotta be at 100% occupancy. Now here's a guy who really need the $$$.

Pura Vida,
LVSeve

Admin1 is that link correct? I could not get it to open. Get the dreaded "page could not be displayed" message.

The Link is fine....

As always things change and we will continue to be involved to get the best for all our members. I still believe the dress code policy at the prez is not that big an issue as I did not see or hear of any problems the last 4 days I was there this week.....

As far as Jaco we are working on new venues and improving our relationship with the Copa for a better program...

Had a meeting today with the Amon, and your right they are trying to get away from the monger hotel mentality as well as being a choice hotel property...

Bottom line is the Casino has a lease with them and this directly relates to their clients, as we book through the casino. They are up in arms about it and hopefully we can work something out next week so just relax, your Admin is on top of it.

I think the change at the Clarion Amon has alot to do with the hotel being apart of the same same group of hotels as the Sleep Inn (Choice Hotels).

Admin1 why are you so sure it's temporary? Are you hoping for the best or do you know something about the longevity of the tenure of the new person in power?

ID
, I just tried the Hotel M link and it worked fine.

Works fine for me also now. Guess it was just another little quirk with the CR Internet provider.

Admin,
It says on the site that it's a "members only" type of place. Does that mean there's a fee? It mentions application and exclusive clienetele. Do CRT members qualify as exclusive clientele.

thanks.

For those who are unhappy with Amon, you have every right not to stay there, same with Sleep and Presidente. If enough of us refuse to stay there, maybe it will send a message, not a big message due to our limited overall relative size, but perhaps they'll get it.

YO Chica fees:

Let me see if I've got this right. $25. to bring in a lady of the evening to watch TV, play cards or have an intellectual conversation with. Shit, I never pay the chicas over $18. for their short time with me.....although rare and ugly when I find one. Damn......that comes to $38. Looks like I'm back on the street at the Circus Cardboard Inns. Nothing seems easy in life......especially in CR. I'm so depressed.

It will be part hotel and part private country club type envoirnment. its really unique in nature.

Obviously if you are hotel guests you are admitted to all parts of the establishment.

Flip side it will have a country club feel with onsite sportsbetting, poker room computer and conference center.. I don't want to steal their thunder, but there will be I believe daily, type passes, yearly etc. but yes CRT will have some sort of discount built in... Again, I'm not a partner in this, let them make their announcements and you can contact them from there...

Again I'm just speaking as some places change policies others open their doors and we roll with the punches. Didn't mean to hijack my own thread.

Bottom line there are plenty of alternatives, you have to find one that meets your wants & needs its simple as that.
