Right now it looks like I can take a break from the jungle the 19th - 22nd of September.

I ask mi novia where she'd like me to stay and and after several discussions (where she started out with SL) she mentioned a pool. Now I have pool at the Lodge so that's no big deal, but it is for her.

Chica friendliness is not important - she'll register with me. And she'll wear ropa normal and we'll get disapproving looks because I'm 3x her age.

Looking at the various hotels in La Sabena, I can use Hilton Honors points at the Hilton Garden Inn - which has a rooftop pool - and get a king room with a balcony  for $40 a night.

I also looked at the KC Hotel.

There is no truth to the foul rumors that, on occasion, when I'm alone at the Lodge, I may have taken a midnight swim or used the "Jacuzzi" (hot tub) ala natural.

I had a friend stay at Hilton Garden and he liked it. He checked his girl in with him and there were no problems.

I have no info about taking other girls in/out. Doesn't seem like they would allow it. New hotel and very very expensive real estate close to my home.

Beautiful hotel. At the rate you're paying I would recommend. Pool is on the 14th floor, not a lot of activity there. Note that Tuesday 9/6 is the CR VRS Panamá World Cup elimination tournament. Should be fun.

I stayed here a couple of nights last trip down as I need 30 stays a year in hilton properties to keep my diamond level (hint its much easier to accrue diamond by "stays" which defines as at least one night at a property, If I am going to San Jose I can stay one night at the Hampton by the airport head to Jaco catch Garden Inn on the way back and get 2 stays.

Only strange issue is the lobby is not on the ground floor and if you have a car it seems strange to leave it there in the tiny drive up while you check in and get shown to your room. Then you go down drive your car around the building to the underground parking. I really loved the pool on 14 and the gym overlooking the stadium. Excellent facilities and highly recommended if you want to take a one or two night break from more spartan accomodations
