Gotta chime in cause, after all, I did start this madhouse of a thread. You both have points but gotta weigh in on the Pac55 side that making blanket statements just won't cut it with these girls.
There are soooo many different reasons and soooo many different kinds of girls that are doing 'the deed' now days it is impossible to write such a simple explanation as 'being lazy' or only wanting clothes or cell phones.
You gotta understand, once a girl gets used to the life she has when she makes double the average Tica salary, it's VERY tough for them to go back. Instead of saving money, it seems they just build up more bills to spend that money on.
Is it being lazy?? NO...working DR is hard work believe it or not. I mean would you want to screw you?? Not being harsh but think about it.
Is it for the K*ds?? Sometimes because they have gotten used to a certain lifestyle so now that is a norm for them and the only way a lot of them have to keep that upper-middle class Tica lifestyle is to continue to work.
I've found the reasons are multiple, change rapidly and rarely make a whole lot of sence. But if we look at this from their standpoint, gotta give them some credit.
For example, how many guys are working in Iraq?? It's all about the better money they can earn for their families. It's honest work (as is hooking in CR) and they can make more in a few months than most of their piers can in the states in years. Does that make them less of a person?? Less of a good provider??
No..these guys will lay their lives on the line to make a better future (or present) for their families. Much the same as the girls here. Should we be 'insulted' they do this for a living instead of something else?? I don't think so. So are the chicas lazy...crave all the goods the world has to offer and just do this to make themselves happy?
No...it makes them willing to do whatever it takes to make the cash they want their families to have. Don't see any difference in our beloved chicas. They do what they gotta do just like the rest of us.
In my time here, that is the one thing that really stands out. They are just like us with similar motivations. Just gotta try and see it from their viewpoint.
Just my two cents...not even sure it makes sence in the drunk state I'm in right now after a night with the boys at at CR strip club

Sorry dude, the rationalizations, false norming and other psycho-babble contained in your post don't wash. Simply put; that dog don’t hunt.
Equating hooking in CR to guys working for the various contract firms in Iraq is down right insulting to those that choose to do that dangerous job. Equating an amoral activity like hooking to a dangerous, yet highly lucrative and honorable profession is simply wrong.
I really don't try to understand hookers, not do I try to understand strippers in the United States. The latter is a more analogous comparison than the Iraq contract worker example that you seem to want us to buy into.
I really don’t have to try and understand their motivations for becoming hookers. They provide a valuable service and I thank them for doing so. I would just a soon leave it at that.
