La D,
Was thinking of Ojochal, for retirement, just how seedy is it. In the mountains not beach front.
HDR is a long drive.
Jonny, thanks for the explanation.

you a funny man 911 so not sure if you are being facetious
i have no experience in the mountains or honestly a whole lot of experience in the southern beach cities
just my personal observations from walking around and talking to people here and there
having been a few places in the world i just learned to trust my instincts as the guy who obviously isn't from there
i tend to notice people noticing me and sizing me up
noticed a lot of that in the beach towns in and around dominical
then again i've felt that in san jose as well
some might call it paranoia i call it self preservation

Hey you need to plan a trip when I am down there. I have gotten to know a quite a bit of the coast from Tamarindo to Panama and you are welcome to explore with us and have some fun. My girl is an awesome wingwoman. There is a lot to consider about moving down there but I have been learning a lot over the last 3+ years renting a house there.

I am a vet of Germany,Brazil, Mexico, Tampa! My first trip to CR was a month ago, came back last week for ten days, Friday , sat @HDR was good, made some new friends meet at new fantasy and Amistad ,incredible time alcasar for $60 on Sunday. Language barrier was a problem at Josephine's

Then off to Jaco where the lineup on Monday and Tuesday was great wed a little slow , I Did overspend on my first Columbian but all the others took cien or less, the police were shaking down lots of the drug dealers on the Main Street. Some of my fav are sadly way in the ps.

Even saw my first MP girl ever working the crowd at Cocal asking for $150 lol.

I always pay in colones but this country is still not cheap. So have been checking all the MP so many girls to choose from service is hit and miss but price is good for the 1/2 hr.

Idem has some nice girls but unless you pay $100 for the nice room it is like pucking in a Tijuana street girl flophouse.

Back to SJ for the next weekend meet up with a few favs. HDR lineup for Saturday night was terrible IMO . had some nice sessions at Monica's and a young hard bodied stripper at Alcasar.

driver last month told me a new airport even closer to Jaco in the five yr plans?
also told by some Colombian vet monger that the girls at cocal were "forced" to ask for $150. Not sure if bs.

Back home in Indiana, thailand and Columbia are on my BL but will be back to CR in a few months.

Tampa? I used to live in Tampa, my impression is like the rest of the USA, it's hit or miss and seldom sweet fun girls like CR. You trolling Hillsborough Blvd? I might visit a friend of mine in Tampa in a week or two, if you know of a hot spot there please fill me in! I live in southeast Florida and hit the strip clubs looking for one I can trust, befriend and have come over. I spend a few excessive bucks on doing that and when I do find one acceptable, $200 or more is the going fee, only a few are as receptive and interactive like Nicas and Ticas. Usually I get lucky with recent Cuban arrivals, quite prevalent over here, American girls, even Latinas born here are often clock watchers and rigid. Forget white girls...

Thanks for the advice, I remember I lived in Tampa in the mid and late 70's, the popular strip club was that crazy place on Hillsboro that looked like a space ship. Back in those days, across the street was a small non descriptive bar where hoes operated somewhat like they do in the HDR or Sportsmans, you would walk in and each table had a hoe, you would look around and sit at the table with the ho you liked and negotiate a deal, there was a no tell motel behind it, they knew the drill. Most of the time the hoes had a room, you didn't have to pay that. After getting your pounding in, the Waffle House was a place to wet your appetite, open 24 hours, we had many a 3 am breakfast there. I was only around early 20's so in those days so I could get great tang for free, but occasionally me and my friends would go there for the debauchery. I worked with an older guy who was married, sometimes he would pick up the tab and go with us telling his wife he was going to play tennis with the younger guys, we looked a little odd going to that place in our tennis outfits...

With apologies to Don Henley for the changes;

On a dark disembark at San Jose Airport, cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of coitis, rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
I had to stop for the night.

There she stood in the doorway;
I heard the mission bell
And I was thinking to myself
'This could be heaven or this could be Hell'
Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor,
I thought I heard them say

Welcome to the Hotel Del Rey
Such a lovely place (such a lovely place)
Such a lovely face.
Plenty of room at the Hotel Del Rey
Any time of year (any time of year) you can find it here (except Easter and Christmas)

Her mind is Tiffany-twisted, she got the Mercedes bends
She got a lot of pretty, pretty chicas, that she calls friends
How they dance in the Key Largo, sweet summer sweat
Some dance to remember, some dance to forget

So I called up room service,
'Please bring me my wine'
He said, 'we haven't had that spirit here since nineteen sixty-nine'
And still those voices are calling from far away,
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say"

Welcome to the Hotel Del Rey
Such a lovely place (such a lovely place)
Such a lovely face.
They livin' it up at the Hotel Del Rey
What a nice surprise (what a nice surprise), bring your alibis

Mirrors on the ceiling,
The pink champagne on ice
And she said, 'we are all just prisoners here, of our own device'
And in the master's chambers,
They gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives,
But they just can't kill the beast

Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back to the place I was before
'Relax' said the night man,
'We are programmed to receive.
You can check out any time you like,
But you can never leave!'

I hope it isn't the warm smell of "colitis" which would be rather stinky. The smell of "coitus" would be better if it is your own and a hot chica.
