Having educated a chica in English both in Costa Rica at Intensa and Berlitz and then in the US at a "FREE" ESOL program at the local adult education school, I can clearly say the free program is much better. All English teaching that I saw in CR was by rote memorization and taught by a Tico at Intensa and a German at Berlitz. The US program teaches English grammar the way I learned it in school. They teach grammar, reading and writing.
Now if you want to teach a chica English and then bring her to the US, enroll her first into Berlitz in CR and then bring her to the US on a student VISA. It's easier to get than a fiance' VISA and so long as she is in the local adult education ESOL class she can stay in the US. Bring her here under the Berlitz program and then move her to the local free adult education program. You also only have to agree to be financially resonsible for her for one year on a student VISA compared to five years under the fiance' VISA. After one year under a student VISA, she can get a work permit and a SS#. Amazing isn't it?
