Where else can someone get cheap sourvenirs? El Pueblo has cheap sourvenirs?

Also, what items are cheaper in Costa Rica than the US? Are there any bargains to be found in designer clothes? Mens Suits?

Had a visitor here from the states a few weeks ago who wanted to take back some souvenirs. Found the best prices at the Mercado Central and do not forget to always ask ""descuentos para efectivo? (discount for cash?.) Every merchant knocked down the price when asked.

Clothes are expensive in Costa Rica. Have never shopped for a suit, laid back life style in CR no suit, shirt, tie routine , so can not really give a price range for them.

If you like a good pair of boots, you can find great prices on hand-made leather boots. There's a shop in SJO, but I'm not sure where it's located. There was a thread about it last year. I bought 2 pairs in Playa del Coco for $80 total, a few months ago. All leather, stitching, leather soles. Very comfortable....

Also, clay / ceramic pottery is inexpensive. Lots of different types of woodwork souvenirs are inexpensive. Some shops sell hand painted artwork for good prices. You can always find the usual cheap hats, t-shirts, coffee cups, mugs, etc for good prices. Hammocks are cheap also. And if you look hard enough, you can usually pick up "the clap" for less than cien. And that's the gift that keeps on giving! (j/k)

In San Jose the shops, there multiple ones, that make boots and shoes are congregated in an area just off Paseo Colon. Look for the "Torre Mercedes"
now the Scotia Bank Tower (Calle 24 & Paseo Colon) and walk a couple of blocks north. For those directionally challenged  the Scotia Bank tower is on the North East corner.

Yes it is, and that's why it's directly in-line with your original request for information on "cheap" souvenirs in CR! Sorry for my attempt on humor. Disregard my original post!
