Last weekend I was playing blackjack in the Horseshoe and tried to buy in with 3 $100 bills.

One of them was rejected by the Pit supervisor because the serial number started with 'CB'.

It didn't make any difference that it looked just like the other two and had the $100 thread imbended, etc. they refused to take it just because it had a 'CB' serial number (probably only a few million of those in circulation).

Just check those benjamins and exchange them before you leave home.

Witling, this article explains that people in South America are making fake greenbacks with "CB" serial numbers.

DildoMan,
Thanks for the link.

Of course if they had just looked at the bill they could see it was good.
I even brought it from the states as was stated in the article:

"Large says that the majority of notes with those letters are valid currency, originating with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York".

It was sort of irritating that they just blew it off without even looking at it.

No problem either way as long as I have an ATM card.
Thanks again for the link.

While in Managua, I got a hundred dollar bill in a casino and when I tried to exchange it at the airport upon arrival in San jose yesterday, they refused it. Upon advice from friends, I took it to a casino and bought in for chips. They didn't even notice and paid me the chips.
