Try TACA out of JFK. They fly non-stop to San Jose, CR. I don't think Delta has a non-stop. Airfares on TACA (LACSA) have dropped to $413 -$435 (taxes included) for Memorial Day weekend. Nice looking Chica flight attendants. WWW.TACA.COM

Damn, I booked on Saturday @ $456 and I predicted that fares would drop even more. $413 now and I'll bet they'll drop below $400 since the seats are empty. When I was choosing my seats while booking, only about 20 seats were taken out of ~150.

I have a feeling that prices on Taca will drop some more as it gets closer to the travel date if seats aren't being booked up, but why be greedy, saving $100 is enough for me.

Can't have it both ways amigo. Take the hundred you saved, enjoy, stop watching fares. It's over accept the savings. Why torture yourself

Watching airfares after we book brings up an interesting question. Flying from Dallas I most frequently fly American but have used numerous outher airlines on sales. On AAlines it is worthwhile to watch fares because if you book direct and the fare is cut you can get the difference refuded with a phone call as I have done it several times. I am just curious if anyone knows what the outher airlines policies are for fare reductions.rbc100

Continental does not do it unless you pay a $100 change fee. I tried today to do it without incurring a fee and they literally told me "too bad that's business." (booked last week and price dropped over $100 today).
But before I hung up they said "thanks for choosing Continental" .

Gotta love Delta.

JFK to SJO via ATL = $440
ATL to SJO on the same flight = $499

Absolutely RBC! I have done this twice with AA in the past. Even AFTER I book my trips, I still monitor airfares for this exact reason! :o
All it takes is a toll-free phone call. It's worth it!
