I researched the web and Found Tin Leg to be the lowest cost insurer For CR for the 50,000 med / 2000 extended stay. They gave me an April Special of $55 for my trip May 6 for 11 days.

I got Trawick International for $44 for 12 days in April. Cist was based on me being 65 years old and. $500 trip cost.

I sat next to a guy on the flight down. He was 40 something and said he got 16 days of Trawick for under $30. He used a zero dollar trip cost.

Just to satisfy my curiosity and test what my travel companion said, I got a quote on the Trawick site for a 45 year old for 16 days beginning May 1. Zero dollar trip cost. Premium was $31.08.

I got my insurance today thru Trawick as well the Voyager plan for those not familiar.

My price was $24.30 for 7 days and I'm 47 years young, then I went over to https://salud.go.cr/
and my QR code was generated Immediately.

I have not heard of anyone use Tin Leg Insurance that you found, but all I can say is make sure they provide a minimum coverage of $2,000 for potential or extended quarantine lodging expenses due to Covid19 and that is part of the extended stay coverage , as a lot of these Companies I have researched in the past don't have this coverage and I would hate for you to arrive and have an issue.

I got Trawick for 7 days for $26 with $0 trip cost. Haven’t got the QR yet, but from other posts no issues. They are underwritten by Nationwide, so it’s backed by a huge company, so don’t expect any issues.

What is the 'trip cost' mentioned in a few comments?
Haven't made it through the website yet but curious what that refers to with the insurance.

Trawick is a more traditional travel insurance that also covers reimbursement for trip interruption or cancelation. Therefore cost of reimbursing trip costs figures into calculation on premium cost. To get lowest cost, putting in trip cost of zero eliminates that from consideration in calculation of the premium. Of course you are then not covered for that. But still covered for things CR requires.

I just bought Trawick for my April 19th trip. I am 63 and got 10 days for $35.00, made hard copies of everything off their email. I put down $500.00 for trip cost. Hopefully everything will go smooth on the health questions.
