Good Evening Gents!

Its been a minute but its time to get back on the horse and explore. I will be heading to Colombia before I head down to the Sportsmens June or so and I am in dire need of information. With all the information available "On the web", I wanted to get some insight from my fellow brothers on the scene in Medellin and Cartagena. I am flying down to Medellin and will be checking out the infamous "Mansion Hotel" or as they are known on their site as Hotel Medellin Plaza. I was wondering if anyone can give me a personal experience of the place. I will be staying outside of the hotel unfortunately, as I am staying in the Parque Lleras. If anyone can give me a breakdown of the Medellin scene I would really appreciate it (Paisas specifically as well as Massage and strip clubs the whole deal). Also not sure if anyone can also give me some tips on Weed in Colombia as I have had mixed responses. As far as Cartagena goes, I will be staying in the Bocagrande Hyatt for a few days during the week and would also love the breakdown of this town as well. Goal is to meet a beautiful Paisa to hang onto while I solo travel :).

Thanks for the input everyone.

As Arlo Guthrie once said, "You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant."
Welcome to Colombia.
"The Mansion" would have been a good place to start out for someone like yourself. However, having said that, if you are in a room or apartment in Parque Lleras, you will be in the heart of the tourist-oriented night-life of Medellin. Up until a couple of years ago, there was virtually no soliciting in Lleras. You'll see plenty of restaurants, bars, cafes...indoor and outdoor venues... and of course, many pretty girls. Be careful though, "visiting like-minded single gentlemen" have been known to get drugged, robbed and worse. Have a good time, but keep your wits about you. If an event looks too good to be true, it probably isn't. There are other districts in Medellin known for nightlife such as nearby Barrio Colombia, Laureles (La 70 & 33), San Diego and seedy clubs in Itagui. If you like cheap and gritty, check-out the bars and short-term hotels around Mayorista (get off on the Metro Ayura stop). I never stayed at the Mansion, but from what I understand, it is off-limits to non-guests. Perhaps, someone who has recently stayed there, can update on their current policies. The MPs and strip clubs are not too far away from you...take a cab or better yet, the Metro. Get off at either the Exposiciones stop (for San Diego) or Parque Berrio/Prado stops for the Centro MPs and other venues.

Cartagena will be a whole different experience... it is a destination that is geared for tourism. Please don't drink the tap water. You will be very disappointed by the beaches around Bocagrande... and before you leave Cartagena, you will hate the touts. Take a boat ride to the Rosario Islands, spend a couple of days exploring and enjoying the cuisine in Old City, and check out the old forts that guard the harbor. Prostitution is one of Cartegena's iconic industries. Working girls from all over Colombia and some other places come to "work." You won't have a hard time finding the venues where they work. You will even find native "paisas" from Medellin who can earn up to 2 & 3 times their usual going rate back home.

Have fun... and stay safe.

Blue devil, thanks so much buddy. This information you provided was exactly what I was looking for. I appreciate the insight. As far as mansion hotel goes I think you are right. I emailed them yesterday and they said it is not available for non guest unless they are sold out. I am try to work with them to pay a cover or something just to check it out. If not I may have to book a room for a night or I open to god they are sold out when I am there. Either way I will keep you all posted when I cruise down late next month.
As far as safety also thank you. Will not be drinking or partying heaving, few drinks to get a buzz going but I’ll be sure to safe guard my drink. Good looking out bud.

As far as massage parlors go, can you or anyone provide me with a few of the top recommended places? From what I see all the reviews are out dated. The only massage place I have jotted downs to check out is Loutron and the only strip club is Fase 2 and Luna Lunera. I will however be checking out Club Gusto which is a pro club.

Again thanks for the feedback buddy! I will keep you updated when I return and hopefully I can share the knowledge with all of you. Thanks

My information is somewhat dated as I moved out of Medellin 4 years ago, and I don't go into Medellin except if I absolutely have to. As I said before, you really need a guide, driver or an experienced wingman to find these places. Perhaps a few of the experienced Medellin "vets", with current knowledge of the Medellin MP scene, will jump in here.

Here’s a few suggestions in addition to what BlueDevil told you. To let you know where I am coming from, I am a frequent visitor to Medellin but like many of us who have been going there for years at this point I have a bunch of regular chicas whom I’ve gotten to know and like over time and tend to spend most of my time with them.

However I do like to partake in the MP’s on occasion so will give you my 2 pesos there. The MP scene in MDE is pretty big and spread out and changes frequently so keep that in mind. I generally don’t keep track of what’s the hot spot for this month. But 2 that I like and have been around for a long time and would recommend are New Life and Energy.

New Life is in El Centro and generally has a decent lineup and is reasonably priced. I’ve had many good experiences there. Most of the taxi drivers would probably know it but if you get off on the corner of Calle 56 and Avenida Oriental and hang a right on Calle 56 it’s the place with the bright blue door about 3 blocks up on the right hand side.

Energy is very close to Estadio and though I have not been there in about a year, some of the best MP experiences I have ever had have been in this place. The quality of the lineup can be outstanding and the chicas tend to be a cut above the normal MP. However it is quite expensive for an MP. Last I went a session was 150K pesos which is pretty high, but again I’ve been there when the entire lineup was 8’s and above. Though obviously that is variable.

So those are 2 that I have frequented and can recommend as worth trying. As I said there are many MP’s in MDE from super low rent to super high end and some of the guys on this board are definitely MP aficionados and can give a lot more detailed information and recommendations. Perhaps they’ll chime in.

As for Cartagena, I’m not a beach guy and don’t like hot and humid weather so I’ve never been. But some on here really like it and perhaps will chime in with some more info.

Have a great trip and have fun. Medellin is a magical place but as BlueDevil said you need to be careful and keep your wits about you. There have been quite a few druggings and robbery’s in the Parque Lleras area and recently even 2 murders. Again it’s a generally safe place but it’s a big city and shit happens like in any other big city in the world. Especially to those who are not aware of their surroundings. But having said that, it’s a great place and most people who go tend to really like it and return again and again.

Sincity is totally right. I have no problem with MJ but your response was uncalled for. Either you follow the CRT rules or get off. We are trying to keep this website alive . And buy a membership on CRT, cheap ass.

Skosh and LaDiablo I sincerely appreciate the help and tip. Will keep my wits about and I’ll share my experience when it’s all over.
Jawanker, I never intentionally meant to break any rules. And I never wanted to be rude back, but when someone comes out saying Read the phucking forum, it was a disrespectful way of entering the thread. Anyways it’s over with and done. I’ll be sure to keep closer to the rules and keep that topic off the forums.
Thanks everyone for the feedback.

Gusto is a nightclub/disco...one of many bars and clubs in Parque Lleras. It is not a "pro club" in any sense other than some of the customers there may be working girls. But many may not be. And their boyfriends may not be. Just a heads up there. It's not a place I would go again. It may be an after hours place for working girls, but unless you're in their demographic you may feel a bit out of place.

Fersure, good looking out! I think I’ll be at the Mansion hotel most of the time. They are amost sold out (1 room left) and I would only have to pay a cover to enter. Would be a solid place to spend my time. But I’ll definitely check out gusto, just for the heck of it.
