I'm planning a trip to CR in a couple of months, my first in nearly two years. Is the Del Ray still operating with ticas or has the action moved somewhere else?

First, a point of order - the HDR doesn't operate with chicas. The working girls (hopefully everywhere in CR) are independent and not associated with any hotel, etc. Pimping and pandering are illegal in Costa Rica. Sex trafficking is bad.

Yes, girls still throng to the Blue Marlin bar at the HDR (and somewhat to Key Largo). 24/7. There is no other venue in San Jose that has the numbers.

On the weekends, the Cocal in Jaco. Many say the girls there are uniformly hotter - but in my experience they also demand more money, perform 'adequately', are clock watchers. The clueless richy-riches staying in Los Suenos and the bachelor party crew have set that tone.

Also in SJ - the SL has fewer girls that come in compared to the HDR (obvio - it's a smaller place); the Hotel Little Havana bar (hit-or-miss) and the Hotel Taormina's casino sports bar (also hit-or-miss) - and the salas (Monica's, etc.) for 'incall'.

from my last two trips-May/Sept 2018, the day shift at HDR was hotter than the night shift.

I also find they are more inclined to accept $50 to $70, most don't stand firm at $80 to $100, don't watch the clock as severely and are open for afternoon and even morning encounters.

The pressure and stress seems to be a lot lighter in the afternoons, it's easier to have one sit with you and have a pleasant conversation, a "get to know you" conversation before getting down to negotiations.

Awesome. I had heard it changed hands and was wondering if things were different. Good to know it's still a party location.
