This may seem dumb, but I already know the HDR and SL are the places to be to find the best working girls in the city.

But can I please get a recommendation on a hotel that allows working girls (even if there is a guest fee) but also wouldn't be blatant to a nonworking girl like the HDR and SL are. The only reason why I'm saying this is because I have a few local girlfriends that I met in Jaco my first time in CR that want to visit and hang out while im in the city.

TL;DR = want to find a nice hotel that allows guests - maybe a girl i take home from the HDR or a girl that I know locally that doesn't want my $$ but may also not want to go back to the HDR or SL with me....please help!

My, limited experience, advice would be La Amistad or Castillo. No fees and private.

The Aurola Holiday Inn northwest side of Parque Morazan. I think the guest fee is $100. Your friends still have to sign in.

Or the Sleep Inn south of the park (same block as the HDR) but they have you fill out a form, including passport info) every time. $35 last I heard.

A popular working girl has told me that she has no trouble getting into the Radisson, just north of downtown......but she never LOOKS like a working girl.

Barcelo Hotel no problems as long as you are discreet. At times a working girl or 2 in the bar but again very discreet and some of the security guys will hook you up. This is a decent high class hotel rooms start around $90 per night. Not to far from the stadium.

Would you say that’s the general rule of thumb, if they don’t look like a working girl hen you most likely won’t be bothered?

No - - - it's not a good rule of thumb.

Some hotels are vigilant about excluding working girls no matter how they're dressed......think Hotel Presidente.

In some hotels, a gringo with a Tica will raise suspicions - - - even if she's with you when you try to register both of you.

Hotel el Maragato, on Ave Central very close to Calle 3 in the gulch, is not known as a monger hotel. But I've been in the rooms. They're not luxurious, but there good for the price. A record of you staying there would probably NOT raise any suspicions.

is that $100 per visit? or just $100 for your stay as a fee. I was recently at Sportsman and that place was great, but not conducive to do real daytime work over the internet during the day and I am an IHG member, so was thinking of next trip stay at Holiday Inn and work from there instead of taking vacation time.

True. To the poster.... Tica is the word for a female Costa Rican. Any female Costa Rican. I suspect what you were talking about was bringing hookers into your hotel. And in Costa Rica many of them may be from other countries, therefore not Ticas. But they still might not be able to get in to the hotel with you, or would be subject to a guest fee.

Tica - female Costa Rican
Tico - male Costa Rican
Nica - male or female from Nicaragua
Dominicana - sometimes used for females from Dominican Republic
Paisa - male or female from the rural part of Colombia...or from Medellin area more specifically, Antioquia
Colombiana - general term for female Colombian - Besides Paisa there are other areas of Colombia that have their own names..Costeno, Rolo...etc.

Most of the working girls in Costa Rica come from those places, with a few Cubans, Panamanians, and others thrown in.

try Amistad or Castillo... ask for a room with a desk you can work out of, lots of guys do work out of their rooms part of the day.. good fast internet

Sheraton in Escazu, Barcelo/San Jose. Both decent and no problems with a little discretion.
