Looking to stay in a penthouse room at Hotel La Amistad and wanted input on which is the best room to request during my stay. I definitely want a hot tub/jacuzzi in room. Anyone have input or suggestions on which penthouse to request?

Make sure you ask them if it works. Twice I've had 301 (I think?) and twice the jacuzzi didn't work - only hot water (and I mean hot - like fill it at 4 and it's still scalding at 7 hot).

I've stayed in room 201 a couple of times - easy access from lobby with a large bathroom containing a jacuzzi and a large separate living area with street facing windows - not much too see but they allow a lot of natural light in. When I was there in January 2016 the jacuzzi worked fine just be careful with the hot water since it was scalding hot. Biggest downside with the room is that damn train since the room faces the tracks - part of your charming street view. If you're a light sleeper i recommend you bring earplugs :D

I've stayed in the third floor penthouse before, nice room, but those stairs are a bear, especially at 3AM in the morning, with a good buzz! Just food for thought.

Yes, 201. In June 2016 there was only scalding hot water.

Try 202 a very nice room facing the street. When you walk in first stairs on your left and you can open all the windows for a nice breeze.

I have stayed in both 201 and 202 and both are acceptable to me. The train noise does not bother me.

If a jacuzzi is not essential you may want to consider 310 - very large with a loft area and large street
facing windows. It's the last room on the left before the final stairs leading to the top penthouse previously referenced. The train noise is again a factor but, to be fair, that applies to the hotel in general. Since the a/c unit is located in the loft with the bed on the lower level I was initially concerned that it would not cool enough. However, when I stayed there earlier this month I did not find it to be an issue.
