I will love to see the headlines when scantily clad female French police start approaching tourists soliciting them for sex then throwing them in jail when they agree. Think of all the money they can make for a week or two until the tourist industry disappears. Then they can start working on the local Frenchmen in the bars. If they get a French woman to shave her legs and armpits and not smell like a goat she can probably pack all the jails in Paris in a few hours. That is if she agrees to do bbbjs in the toilet for $20. It's not the customers or the prostitutes who want prostitution to be illegal. It is women who want to be able to continue to use their pu*sy to control men. Give me what I want or you don't get the pu*sy. Who are the real whores? The same women who demand control over their bodies so that they can have abortions are the ones who oppose legal prostitution. They want it both ways. They want to be able to do what they wish with their own body but prevent other women from competing against them when it comes to catching and controlling men. Why do you think in our society we can only legally have one wife? Would it matter to you if women were allowed to have more than one husband?
Want it off the streets? Let it be as open as it is here. Let the women apply for business licenses, require health inspections, let them pay taxes to obtain insurance, have locations and ways they can market their services that are safe for them. Provide access to job training if they want to change professions. If you don't want human sex trafficing then have strict enforcement of pimping laws. No fines, if convicted put them in jail.

Same "Swedish model" law was passed in Canada. Prostitution was formerly legal in Canada, however a lot of activities associated with it were not. Our former government in their wisdom made it illegal to purchase sex, although legal to sell. Generally the law is not being enforced as the provinces feel it would be overturned if challenged to the Supreme Court.
