Hello fellas, I'm 24 years old, Spanish speaker, first time monger and currently planning a week long trip to San Jose this September! I know when I'm going, what I want to do, but not where to stay. From what little I have gathered so far, I have three options. El rey, Amistad, and Morazan.

La Amistad: The rooms look great, fair rates and a welcoming atmosphere, but the ticas are nowhere on the premises and I don't want to walk for more than 5 minutes with one or get a taxi every single round. This hotel was my first choice. I wanted to rent a master suite ( or any room with a Jacuzzi ) and whatsapp one or two ticas per day, but now that idea is losing its luster after reading some of your opinions about the CR backpage; please prove me wrong and show me that the backpage is a decent alternative.

Morazan: For its location, rates and superior room quality to the king next door, el morazan is a solid second choice, going for the gold if the backpage is all trash. Any intel on the morazan's master suite and overall experience is welcomed ( I NEED a room with a Jacuzzi lol ) . If I stay at the morazan , is it as easy as walking next door to del rey, pick a tica and walk out 2 minutes later?

El REY: Last but looking the least is the tica oasis of San Jose. The convenience factor is attractive, but the rooms aren't; the only decent one is the master suite but is way overpriced for what it offers. For those who frequent del rey, room-wise, was your stay bearable?

Cross out Morazan. Amistad is great for food/booze and comfort. Ray is too close too the action for me

You have two more options, the Sportsman's Lodge and the Taormina. The Sportsman's has jacuzzis in many of its rooms, a great bar and restaurant and women on the premises. The Taormina has a restaurant, casino, bar and a few women on the premises. I suggest the Sportsmans. As far as taxis, the Del Rey is within five minutes of all of the hotels and less than a two dollar fare. During the day the walk is about five minutes from all the hotels. If you have ever had sex, you paid for it one way or the other. Remember you are not paying for sex, you are paying them to leave after or for you to be able to leave after. Come on down for a life changing experience.

You have two mutually contradictory requirements, so you'll have to choose what's most important to you:

Option 1: a decent room with a jacuzzi
Option 2: chicas (I assume you're not just looking for ticas but would also consider nicas, colombianas, dominicanas and so on) on the premises to avoid transportation hassles.

Forget Morazan. Its main benefit is being cheap and close to the Del Rey.

Amistad is my personal preference, but there aren't any chicas on premises. You'll have to call them in or go hunt for them, preferably NOT on Backpage (most are scams and/or overpriced). However, you'll have your pick of 7 different rooms with ensuite jacuzzis and 4 of them with saunas as well.

Del Rey - for a n00b it's not a bad option if you can tolerate the crappy rooms. However, be aware you will pay a chica fee for each chica you take up to your room. I believe it's 11 dollars per chica.

Last option - have you considered the Sportsmens' Lodge? Chicas on premises and a couple of the rooms have ensuite jacuzzis (e.g. Presidente, the Master suite, and some of the Mansion rooms).

Good luck and happy hunting,

mh

P.S. As my good friend Pops said, Taormina is another good choice. Also Dunn Inn across the street. No chica fees, and you can get discounts at most of these if you join CRT as a paying member.

Thanks guys! Sportsman's looks choice. The Presidential Suite has EVERYTHING that I need and the rate is more than fair. What's the chica count at Sportsman's? Is the action only during peak hours or 24/7 like del rey, minus the high numbers?

I agree. Apologies for that very ignorant statement, there's always a price for the things we love to do.

First visit.....scratch off the Morazon. Amistad is good but you might like Sportsman's better. Also don't stay at the Rey, but visit.

Stay at the Amistad or the Sportsman. Amistad is a 2 minute walk to the Sportsman.

At either of these you will meet veteran mongers who will show you the ropes of San Jose.

When are you coming?

SL action is only mid day / early afternoon and on until bar closing. The mornings are generally a bunch of dudes milling around eating breakfast and bs-ing. I typically get out in the morning to do errands or just see the people. There is More action as the weekend approaches. Many of the girls do both SL and HDR but the HDR will always have the numbers due to sheer size of the venue.

You can always arrange for a morning meet up with a chica at the SL if you have someone picked out or hit them up on whatsapp. I did this my last morning there, unplanned "date" and chica was there in about an hour. I flew home a few hours later with a smile on my face.

The SL security checks every single girl in at entry so it is fairly secure. The girls know if they can or cant go to SL if you meet them elsewhere, make sure to ask them if they are able to get in the SL. I am not sure about Amistad security.

SL is a good place to be near the action, rooms and food are decent and is only a 3 min walk to HDR.

As far as rooms go, there are about 8-9 that open up to the courtyard/ bar area. The rooms in the modern, mansion or clubhouse areas are more private and quieter in general. The courtyard room doors open up directly to the bar so, for me, i prefer that not everyone sees me and chicas coming and going in/out of my room. Just my opinion...
(Presidential ste door opens up to right where the security guards sit at the front door corridor!)

HTH. Enjoy!

Your plan was to travel to Costa Rica, check in to your hotel, and then sit there for a week and only invite girls off the internet? Can't you do that at home? Like somebody said, those internet pics are 99% fake, and the ones that are real, you wouldn't want anyway. And many are straight-oout scams that have bad intentions in mind for you, often criminal.

Part of the fun is getting out and meeting new people (girls and guys). In the 10 years that I've been coming, I have made about 20 friends and a few of them are now really good friends. And I've probably met 200 girls. Trying different types of local foods. Seeing the sights (zip lines, rain forest, volcanoes, beaches, etc). Get out there and live rather than barricating yourself in a hotel room.

If you are shy, tell one of the girls that it's your first time in CR, you will be the most popular guy in town.

If you want to stay close to the Del Rey, there is always the Sleep Inn. Rooms are nice and it is right next door. They have chica fee tho.

Rey for $65/night not bad even if you add 3 girl changes per day less than $100 and rooms are not bad.
Sportsmans less girls good owner and staff.
Others seem to be happy with Amistad and Tormenia.
Good advice from all.

And the front desk staff tends to be snotty - and you have to fill out paperwork for the chica.

I just stayed 2 nights at the HDR in room 403 for $65 a night and the room was nice. The only drawback for me is the 5900 colones chica fee. But the quality of the room was comparable to other hotel $65 rooms.
TORRE NEGRO at the SL is a very nice room with jacuzzi in the mansion section and I would say is my favorite room

I think the SL is great, however I think you cannot go wrong with the Amistad for your first time. The all inclusive with free meals and drinks and laundry..etc..you just can't beat it. SL is within walking distance and you can always go for a spin around the bar there and bring a lady back to Amistad. I personally like there is no working ladies allowed in Amistad to troll for guys except for the ones are visiting guys there. I like to eat and drink without being harassed or eyeballed the whole time. Just my preference.

It's also nice to stay at Amistad and take a walk down through SL and catch a game ( they play all the sports) or hang out to see what talent is there, and then stroll down to HDR and see what's up there. It is a great base of operation. Also I meet new friends at Amistad each time I go there and the bar is pretty cozy in order to talk shop with other guys.

I do really like SL, and have been there tons, just never stayed there but I have a lot of fun at SL and I enjoy going down to it. My suggestion would be Amistad first and SL second trip and compare
