Yogi Berra passed away today at age 90. He won 10(!) World Series championships with the NY Yankees.
A few of Yogi's quotes...
"It ain't over till it's over"
"When you come to a fork in the road, take it"
"It's like déjà vu all over again"
"Congratulations. I knew the record would stand until it was broken"
"He hits from both sides of the plate. He's amphibious"

Anyone have any favorite Yogi quotes?

Yogi's wife (of 66 years) asked him where he wanted to be buried after his funeral. He said " Gee, I don't know Carmen, just surprise me."

He said, always go to other people's funerals, otherwise they won't come to yours.

My favorite Yogi quote was "I'm smarter than the average bear!"

IMHO Appropriate here and two of my Yogi favorites....

“Never answer an anonymous letter.”
“You can observe a lot by watching.”

Stats for Yogi from 1950...

Games.................. 151
Plate Appearances..... 656
At Bats.................. 597
Batting Average...... .322
Home Runs............. 28
Hits..................... 192
Strike Outs............. 12

That last stat is not a misprint. TWELVE strike outs for the entire year :!: Incredible.
Many of today's players have 12 strike outs in five or six games

Even MORE impressive. 414 career strikeouts. Over the equivalent of about 16 full seasons = 25 per year. WOW !!!!
