Hey Everyone!

Newbie here, planning my first trip for next month hopefully.

What is the best/nicest/cleanest hotel I can stay at that is still accessible to the hot spots, massage parlors/strip clubs/etc? I am young too, 27, so maybe somewhere, where there are other single guys around my age to hang out with. Fortunately, money isn't really a factor, so any and all recommendations are appreciated!

I would recommend the La Amistad. It is close to everything and has the all inclusive package. And, there is no charge to bring a girl back to your room. There are always other guys in the bar area to get tips and guidance from or to ask questions of. It is about a block away from the Sportsmen's Lodge, where you can find plenty of company. Right down the road is the New Fantasy MP and Zona 2. The Del Rey is also within walking distance, although at night I recommend a cab. . The SL is also a great place to stay. I myself do not like staying at the Del Rey, but that's me. Others like it.

Looking for the 'nicest' hotel in San Jose with close access to the gulch, my recommendations would be the Sportsmen's Lodge Mansion wing, one of Amistad's larger and newly renovated rooms or Zona2 and one of the suites.

If you are not going to bring girls back to your room (perhaps use short term hotels), the nicest that is still very close to the gulch would be the Radisson which is just 1/2 mile from Zona2. They have a very nice place with pools and a fitness center....basically what you'd expect of a nice Radisson in the U.S. However, they won't allow you to bring girls back. http://www.radisson.com/san-jose-hotel- ... 7/crsanjos

First time.....I would stay at Sportsmen's or Del Rey in that order...either way you should have a great time..

I have stayed in most of the popular hotels and you will probably get several different opinions.

While you are there..walk around during the day and take a look at different hotels-they can give you a hotel-tour and show you a room...Enjoy!!

It depends on what you are looking for.

I picked LA the first time I went to CR and was glad I did. I wanted a place that was quiet and away from the action but near enough just the same. Which it was. It's a good place to meet fellow gringos who are there for the same reasons you are. They can be very helpful.

You'll be comfortable at SL, especially if it's your first trip. Second choice would be Amistad. Del Rey is good for a newbie, but sleazy. Each is a very short walk to the Rey.

My first trip to CR, I stayed at the Del Rey for a month and enjoyed it.

BUT, it is like living above a Brothel/Casino/Bar. It cost $12.00 extra to take each girl up the elevator to your room. That can wind up being $36.00 a day !

The Sportsmans Lodge is an excellant option.

I recommend splitting your trip in half and staying at the Cocal in Jaco for half the trip.

I'm in complete agreement with Icantstayaway. Split your time in SanJose and Jaco. Especially since you are younger. I've spent time in both places and my friends and I easily prefer Jaco (we're just a couple years older than you). Not quite sure why someone would recommend you outright skip it  For your 1st trip I recommend you stay at Cocal in Jaco (ground zero + no chica fee), and La Amistad in San Jose with the all-inclusive deal. Their food is great plus you get a free shuttle ride to Jaco. Have fun man !

If I were a young guy I would stay at Zona 2 because of the great rooms and nice girls waiting downstairs. Also i think you still get a discount on the girls when you stay there. But I am kind of a tightwad. Since he said money is no object, I would say HDR is the way to go. If you don't mind paying top dollar (by Costa Rica standatds) for the girl and paying to just take her to your room. Why not? The selection is best there and a party just across the street. Also even though expensive, the Del Mar is a great restaurant......a no-brainer place to stay and play for a guy with deep pockets

Number one, sign up and get your CRT card, you will have access to discounts at many of the hotels spoken about here and more importantly access to all of the valuable information on the site.
The Lodge, Zona II and Amistad are boutique style hotels/converted mansion type places, the Del Rey and and Mona Lisa are more traditionally designed hotels.

If you want 24 hour action head for the Del Rey, the SL shuts the bar down about midnight but the newer section is generally quiet. The Amistad has a quiet bar area that shuts down fairly early. You will not find girls hanging around the bar area.

Where ever you decide, go out and explore the neighborhood and the places you did not pick and make yur own call.

Jaco does have a great selection of girls, it is very hot and humid and the beach itself is not all that scenic in my view.

Agree 100% with those who say you should split your time between the Gulch (San Jose) and Jaco…to be more specific, Hotel del Rey and Cocal. Each of these venues will provide the best action and diversity for a guy your age! Sure, Sportmen Lodge and Amistad are nice, but devoid of action and long hours like the other venues.

Best looking chicas in CR… you'll find them at Cocal in Jaco. You don't go to Jaco for beach quality/beauty. You go for the chica action and short travel time. Make sure to stay @ Cocal where the action is 8) 8)

Have fun!

I agree . I would stay at DR and Cocal on my first trip but remember Jaco is hot and humid so a good place to get a frozen drink is Surf Dogs a few blocks away and a CRT sponsor. I was lucky on my first few trips (1999) we all stayed at the El Presidente .

How long is your trip??? If it's a week fly in and stay @ the HDR and experience adult disneyland for 2 days.....( my 2nd trip I ran out of condoms in 2 days, brought 2 dozen) then go to Jaco/Cocal for 2-3 days have fun @ the beach and back to the SL for the remainder of your stay........

Otherwise......book the Penthouse @ SL and Party like a Rock Star........you got that room and there will be lots of parties ...oh the memories.

My man....I'm not great at math, but I'm pretty sure that 2 dozen=24....I think. Unless I'm not clear in what you posted, your saying that you used 24 condoms in 2 days? If you can Phuck 24 times in 2 days, you belong in the movies my man.
