Greetings,
I'm scheduling dental treatment in San Jose and I have two time frames/windows of opportunity to choose from. Either between August 16th thru September 4th OR August 30th thru September 14th.

My question to y'all is - Does anything about either of these set of dates stand out to anyone re: events, parties, hotel discounts, cultural happenings, things I can't miss or things going on to avoid etc.?

I'd be humbled to meet some of you Costa Rica aficionados while there. I've been to Thailand (two full consecutive summers with Cambodia and Indonesia thrown in), and a bit of E Europe/Turkey so not a newbie to the craft, only to the culture in CR. I'm excited to get a new smile and having plenty to smile about during my stay!

Thanks, kindly

Panzer,
I think any of those times will work - I will be there Sept.2nd thru the 9th and I never have a set agenda, except I have a 3 day date with a gal I've known for years. We are going to Santa Teresa on the Nicoya Peninsula for some beach time. The scene at the Sportsmens and Hotel Del Rey is usually good between Weds. and Sundays. The other days you have to hunt for the talent. The MP's are a great source for what we are looking for those days and you never know what your going to find! Good luck on the dental work and let the entertainment happen on your down time! I'm sure you will get " Lucky" when you least expect it! Pura Vida

Thanks for the reply, Propman48

It's interesting for me to note that the place I'm doing my teeth, Costa Rica Dental Clinic, has a 'relationship' with CRT and a handful of hotels for the discerning gentleman - SL, Amistad, Dunn, Mona Lisa et al so...trying to figure out which place to book. They each have their merits. Leaning towards Amistad with their all inclusive (after 5 hrs in a chair with Novocain I don't foresee having much energy for chasing tail, meals or beverage...at least the first few days. May move to SL for the rest of the week for action, provided there's vacancy. Or someplace else once I have the lay of the land in the quest for the lay of my life!

I'm renting a car for the following week. That's when I'll blow with the wind. I can float on my own schedule. See some nature, meet some locals, get some culture...just visiting to pull chicks is a bore. I like some scenery with my scenery, if you know what I mean.

I guess what I mean to say is that after the initial K*D in a candy shop phenomenon (and this remained the status for a good while) I settled into the groove and approached the experience in a more holistic way. I went about partaking of other interests and 'normal' activity and became more discriminating about who or when I snatched a girl up. Hell, for me the pursuit and serendipity factor make up a huge part of the turn on for me. I'd rather do and 8 or 9 (the 10 is almost too rare to find in my grading system) once or twice a week than anything below everyday. I got 'bored' with mongering like a glutton and feeling like I had to score something everywhere all the time. Make sense?

If your bored in San Jose you've stayed too long, I like to break up the trip with a couple days on the beach! Jaco has the ladies to find a 8 or 9, but the beach is ugly. There are so many beautiful beaches in Costa Rica that you could spend your whole trip on the beach. You have to get to the pacific side of the country and try beach hopping, I've started in Guanacaste and gone all the way to Dominical in a 2 week time frame. Yes, I did have my girlfriend with me and it made for a great time. The beaches are so cool and the waves are incredible. Do yourself a favor and check it out because it's World Class scenery!

good tips, man, thanks. with a car I can get around to lots of places without wasting time on itineraries. I have 6 free days in a row. I want the volcano and jungle canopy. that might be a day or two. But i have the freedom. I will check out Jaco. it sounds a lot like Pattaya and SJO a lot like Bangkok.
