1. LOCK UP YOUR SHIT!

I know what you mean. It seems that the Chica's at the Cocal are more opt to take your stuff than most. Or is it because it's always full, I don't know but in any case take extra precaution. I had a client I took down there the other day and after the 1st night he call me the next morning. Said the chica stole his C.C. Please be careful with you valuables and watch your drinks at all times.

My room at the Cocal which was parking lot room had a key safe which I put into a sock and tied a knot. And I kept all IDs , CCs, phone and money in safe except for about $40 on me. It's so convienent staying at the Cocal or condos across the street. The only thing I leave out is camera and laptop is out. I just naturally stay on high alert around these chicas and 1 chica in the room at one time is enough. When I first saw this thead , I was concerned it would be another employee safe theft story.

The problem here is that people talk as if it's a CR or 3rd world problem when it's just as bad in the US.The mistake made by the person who started this was that he did a 3-some or menage'.

Rule one: Never do a 3-some with 2 girls who you do not know quite well. I learned that years ago in Vegas. One was on my pipe while the other was in my pants. (which obviously were not on me). It's the oldest trick in the books. Girls that walk around together asking for happy hours are as likely as not to be professional thieves. It's the oldest trick in the books. Yet they thrive because there is always a market for guys who fall for it. If you want a 3-some get 2 girls that you know better than they know each other. Stay away from girls who wont split up and only do happy hours.

I realize that these 2 girls probably did not know each other, but any girl who wants a 3-some is suspicious. Also admit it. If you are really into it, it can be tough keeping a eye on 2 girls at one time.

Lomo, I agree with everything you just said. But I think you missed the point of this thread. The OP posted at the request of a chica a lot of us know very well. She was concerned and simply asking BD to post what went down and remind everyone to be careful and not leave their stuff out. Also, apparently it was a 4-some -2 guys probably drunk. Thou it was not said, often when 2 guys decide to do chicas together they are drinking.

Luna almost always works alone though she knows a lot of chicas and often might be hanging around with some of them. She has told me many times she prefers to work alone unless she knows the chica very well just for the reasons involved in this case.

A little late to the thread, but a heads up on staff theft at the Cocal as well..

My buddy and I stayed at the Vista Mar thru Jaco VIP a few months back. When we got there we left the bags with the security guys while we checked in. My friend had about half of his cash in a pocket on his duffle bag. When we got to the room, about half of that $ was gone. A couple hundred bucks. We went to the security desk and even watched the security tape. There was no way of seeing what the bell guy was doing once he got on the elevator with our stuff - but he was the only one with access to our bags. Lesson learned - don't ever let your stuff out of your sight - and of course, don't leave cash or anything of real value in your bags. I have now been to CR three times and have picked up a lot of great tips on this board. One of the best, though, is don't bring anything of significant value with you, period.

Agree with this. I have felt safer carrying small amounts of cash. If i need money in C.R., i make credit card or ATM withdrawals as the need arises. There may be ATM fees, but i'd rather pay them than risk losing a wad of money at once.

As for Luna, they don't come like her. She is far and away the best provider i have met in C.R.

I wouldn't leave cash in my bag with a hotel in N.America . That was a bad idea . Should've stay close by like poolside or bar side with the money in pocket

Any issue with the safe in the vista mar condo during your stay ?

I'm going the first week of May staying in vista mar , curious to hear how was your recent trip

The safes in most of the Vista Mar condos are good however, some of the condos do not have safes in every room. I know clients I had in 3B this past weekend only had one that worked the first day until they got the second fixed. But the third bedroom did not have a safe at all. You can ask the property manager (who you booked it through) about the safe situation in the exact condo you are renting.

My advice is TRUST NO ONE with cash or passport...always keep it on you until you can put it into a safe. Even the most honest can be tempted with an easy score where they can't be caught like taking it in the elevator where there are no cameras.
