To overstate the obvious: How you perceived Bro Srilm depended very much on your own personal POV. I found him interesting, even stimulating, and will thus miss his future offerings.

I don't disagree with the last half of your paragraph - but explain please your point about point of view - there are many I like and enjoy reading, but don't agree with politically, or their outlook on life, girls, Costa Rica, whatever - great example is the late Irish Drifter. Very knowledgable, but a little on the "chippy" side - liked and respected him.

And while I thought he would never know a serious (or for that matter, helpful) post if it bit him, I always read the posts and threads of the late Florida - thought he had a great sense of humor.

Actually, Bro Scuba1, your examples demonstrated my statement. Some see a guy's posts as coming from a flaming a$$hole just looking to stir sh!t up; others read through that or ignored it to the solid info presented. Not gonna use that tired half-full/half-empty analogy but he was deliberately provocative at times perhaps just to provoke reactions (and damn if he didn't get them!) and it's on the individual Bro how they took it and responded (or silently fumed). Did I muddy this up further? I do believe him when he said he's gone forever--but I've been big time mistaken before too. We'll see...

I get it Jazz - thanks

Personally, I thought his posts on travel, especially air travel were excellent.

I do think that in his last desire to post again, he went overboard - and posted way too much.

OTOH, he wrote well and I thought many of his posts - especially on the above mentioned subjects - were well written and contained a lot of good info.

(I also am not a fan of what I term the long goodbye - if you want to stop posting - or want to stop posting for a while - simply do so and cut the dramatics - if you go to his "history", his posts, you get nothing, nor was an explanation provided for his leaving - I know he got pissed the last time about being called a liar <with the exception of Rolltide, who wouldn't?) - I think that's petulant and drama queen behavior - I also think - like many others in the long goodbye category - he just might be back)

hahahahahahhaahahahah!!! :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: Good one :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

Yes, I do recall the air-traffic controller non-sense and providing a telephone number to a purported station. I mean even if it was real, isn't that a security breach?

I dunno......but it IS amusing...... :P :P :P :P

Nope! It's public information! How could that POSSIBLY BE a security breach? An ATC Station is a Public-Service station! I do recall providing that telephone number RIGHT HERE on CRT!!! It's also available in the Yellow Pages! Idiots!

Air Traffic radio frequencies are public knowledge and easily monitored using off-the-shelf equipment from Radio Shack. You can easily monitor the same frequencies that Air Force One uses.

It's very simple... U.S. Gov't... Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, Air Traffic Control Tower (or Facility)... Google or Phone Book... pretty simple...

Even a 6-year-old could do it...

Although I do realize that that might be beyond the capabilities of those on this board...

-----------------

Just srilm, doing a fly-by with a new ID...

NO... I'm not going back on my promise to abandon CRT... I guarantee you'll never get any more useful info from me here.

No... I won't be back, at least not to give out any useful info.

***YES!***

It is True! One of the things that I hate is being called a liar. I have spent my entire life meticulously researching travel and involved in every aspect of it that you can possibly imagine.

When I am told that I don't know what I am talking about, as it relates to travel... I do tend to go ballistic. If you DO NOT think that I know what I am talking about when it comes to travel, talk to Bill at the SL or Russ (the guy who plays pool and is a jack-of-all-trades in the Gulch). Ask THEM what they think about what I know about the travel industry.

---------------

Just in case you're wondering, Bill got Inner-Runway Personal Expedited Service at LAX, and Russ got $400 First-Class Round-Trip Tickets to the USA.

---------------

Most of you yahoos are probably still paying more than $350 to fly round-trip through Houston on United -- coach.

---------------

You know... If you didn't think that something I said was incorrect, why didn't you just ask me about it? If you thought I was incorrect about something, why didn't you just quote some conflicting info, and initiate a dialog about the discrepancy?

Why did everything on CRT have to become a Dick-Measuring Contest?

Orange would surmise that what I wrote was from Microsoft Flight Simulator...

Because that's as close as Orange will ever get to a real airplane. I can tell by the way that he writes...

----------------------------

Orange... Buddy... :)

You only DREAM of airplanes upon which I have been a passenger...

And You Most Certainly... Only DREAM of being on airplanes which I have Piloted...

...

You just go on ahead and wistfully imagine the aircraft upon which you wish you could have flown... I'll live those Dreams for You! ...

If you have any doubts... I will be happy to verify that I have lived the life that you only DREAM of living...

...

On second thought... Screw Off! I don't owe you any proof or explanations. If anything, you owe me...

He needs to show off and name drops and seek the praise and approval from the boards. If it's not this one, it will be some other word he'll be telling us "true stories" about his super-witty "girlfriend", best business practices, how Ticos should do things in THEIR own country. That was the most entertsining thread. And aircraft and airline threads from a Microsoft Flight Simulator pilot were pretty entertaining too.

I always loved Orange the MOST! :)

He's Hilarious! He might have a decent business in Costa Rica, but that would be entirely by accident!

SO... I need to "Show Off?" ... I think you miss my point, sir...

1) Name-Dropped WHO, exactly?

2) Seek praise and approval from WHO, exactly?

[I do admit that I do not like being called a liar]

3) My girlfriend is certainly not "super-witty." She's a Caustic Bitch!

4) How should Ticos do things in their own country? I NEVER asserted THAT! I only stated that some things are neither Tico nor Gringo. There is a RIGHT WAY and a WRONG WAY!

If you want to do business, you either do it the right way or the wrong way. I have had many conversations with many Tico businessmen who would tell me or you or anyone... "Phuck the Tico Way! Do it the Right Way!"

*Here's a little story... POPS ICE CREAM... The guy who founded POPS (a Tico) basically said, "Who knows how to do Fast Food? The USA Does! That's Who! I'll bring some Fast Food execs from the USA over here for one year, and they'll show me how to do this!"

One year later... POPS blows every competitor out of the frickin' water... and now POPS has stores all over Central America, and in Florida, USA! That's because there is no "Tico" way, there is no "Gringo" way, and there sure as hell is no "Orange" way. You do it the "RIGHT" way, or somebody else will run over your ass.

POPS rams the RIGHT WAY up the ass of every TICO ice-cream vendor in Central America, because POPS does it the RIGHT WAY, which is NOT the TICO way! That's POPS... founded by a TICO!

Orange... Buddy... I don't tell Ticos how to do things in their own country. I simply tell phucking Morons like you how not to let the "Tico Way" retard them into a poor business model.

Orange... Buddy... My business is so easy that I don't even have any competition in Costa Rica... Because every time that I speak about my business model to someone, they say, "Ahhh... You're fulla shit! Nobody could EVER do that in Costa Rica!" I just love dancing with glee every time that they say that! It's music to my ears! I phucking DARE anybody to even compete with me. Most people will say, "ahhh... that's Bullshit!" I love them all! I'd give them all a $500 cash bonus, if I knew who they all were.

Do you think that's a joke?

Intel is here in CR making chips for computers that sell for thousands of dollars, and they are paying the workers only a few dollars per hour.

Rawlings is paying workers in Turrialba less than $20 per day to make baseballs that represent Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars.

And WHY? is there a McDonald's on every street corner in San Jose? Hmmm... ?

There is a very, very good reason why Hooters, Applebee's, Outback, Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut, Papa John's, ... I could go on ... are in Costa Rica.

It's precisely because guys like Orange think, "You have to do it the Tico Way to succeed."

No... You don't... That's why every big store that you ride by is a USA name brand or is owned by a USA company (like Mas X Menos). The Tico Way is not a BAD way... It's just a behind-the-times way that needs to catch up or get left in the dust. The Chinese are not leaving a whole lot of room to spare, either.

[I should probably be ashamed of the fact that I get $2000 per month from the manager of a certain company for his company's travel account, but I figure... He's an idiot, just like Orange]

5) Microsoft Flight Simulator? I don't think I've ever seen it...

-----------

Orange...

Sir...

You do seem to know a bit about that of which you speak...

But you often overstep your bounds and speak about that of which you know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING...

-----------

You wanna know the difference between you and me? It's pretty simple...

When somebody starts talking about Scuba Diving... I keep my FRIGGIN' MOUTH SHUT! I don't know anything about the subject... or... at least... I'm not an expert on the subject. So... I keep my mouth shut... and I Listen...

...or... do we want to discuss the proper handling techniques for JP-7?

So...

Yeah, I was "Back"...

And now, I'm gone again...

---------

What a disappointment CRT turned out to be.

While you idiots figure out how a telephone number to an ATC facility must be some kind of "top secret security breach crap" ...

and the rest of the idiots here try to figure out how reliable the rest of the info on CRT is...

I'll probably turn up again...

I doubt it will be anytime during 2015...

Your choice to leave but why ask Admin3 to delete your posts. So much good information on airlines and travel in general. I for one would request that CRT not delete your posts unless you demand it. Just too much good info!

I did have to make this one last post, because I respect True Sportsman and all that he has done, for all of us...

I requested my account to be deleted because I believe that CRT has become something that is not what it was intended to be. CRT has essentially become a hate-fest, and a "better-than-thou" forum for most of the long-time posters on here.

I never expected anyone to say, "Srilm, You are the GOD!"

However, I also never expected anyone to say, "Srilm, You are fulla Shit!" That's what I took issue with. I don't post about something unless I know what I'm talking about. If CRT has come to the point that every other post is going to be a "calling out" post... Then I don't even want to be associated with CRT.

And... Quite Frankly... I think that is what CRT has come to.

CRT has become nothing more than a collection of wankers who have nothing better to do than rail against people who are attempting to provide good info. I always tried to do that.

I also went to the "Smack Talk" category and attempted to post some minutiae about travel and some anal-retentive info, in a good-spirited mood. I got "called out" for that, as well.

Did I get my "Panties in a Wad?" Yeah, I suppose I did. I also think... "Rightly So." CRT became something that I didn't want to be a part of... A bunch of self-righteous pricks who gladly proclaim their knowledge about that which they know less than the poster.

Once again... I only post this out of respect for True Sportsman and his unwavering philosophy of making this a better place for everyone who seeks true knowledge.

Many of you who know me personally know that I have not been in the downtown San Jose area for quite some time. Those same individuals also know that I am very disappointed in the decline of the quality of the "scene" in downtown San Jose, which is a large factor affecting my absence in the area. I will say no more about that -- I think you can get my meaning.

I no longer have a paid membership here... Nor do I ever want one again.

I had a lifetime CRT membership, and I requested that it be rescinded. I don't regret that request for one moment. I don't want to be associated with many of the people that are members of CRT, nor CRT itself.

Venues used to Proudly display their "CRT Sponsor" banners. I remember the annual CRT anniversary party. Those things don't occur any more. CRT IS NOT what it once was. CRT has become a "members only" club, for those "members" who know so much that they don't even need to be members any more.

There are "members" who immediately "call out" posters for any posted info. There are members who verbally chastise people for being "mongers." There are members who blast away at someone for asking an innocent question.

Need I go on? CRT is certainly NOT the kind of place that I, as a potential new member, would want to visit... and I DEFINITELY would not want to pay money to join the site. Just a few moments on the board reveals a bunch of self-righteous pricks who antagonize each other and blast away at any newbie with a question. Maybe one post in 20 has some real info, but you can't tell, because 5 other people are calling out the post.

That's CRT, guys.

Respectfully, srilm...

toetoe, srilm, every derogatory statement you made about other people describes you to a "T". Years ago, you did post some useful information, but since then you have destroyed any laurels you earned. In recent years, almost all your postings are an attempt to bring others down to your level.

They said...

As if to prove my point...

I couldn't have summed up the cesspool that CRT has become any better if I had written those statements myself.

This site lives for the sole purpose of trashing any statement made.

And who better to do it than the two most "ready to trash you" wankers on the whole site?

I wonder how many posts you guys have made that actually deliver real info versus posts that are simply berating some other guy's comments?

I can't find one useful comment from either one of you on the whole site.

You know I don't take any of you seriously, right?

I had a bout of insomnia and I got a little too bored this morning! :D

See you in a year or so!
