While on my daily walk this morning, went past Universal Department Store on Av Central at Calle 1. I was shocked when I saw a window sign to visit their new food court on 4th floor. One of the signs was for Nathan's. I will pay them a visit soon, love hot dogs.

They do in the USA - but they are a NYC based chain (Brooklyn, actually) and the thing to have w/ them is sauerkraut

Questions like these should be directed to Nathan's Famous or their corporate owners, Conagra.

Checked it out today. They are not open yet. There was a sign that read my pronto. Which in CR could mean next week, next year or never. The sign on the street has been there for at least 2 months. Does not mention that Nathans is not yet open.

Anyway it is a huge food court with a giant TV. Packed with workers eating lunch. It is on the 4th floor with floor to ceiling glass windows. There about 5 places open.

I ate at a place called pinchos. Argentina style grill. The choripan was great. Good chimcurri too.

Nathans is now open on the 4th floor food court at the Universal store on ave central.

Enter thru the western entrance and take the elevator.

Hot dog is 1200 c. Chili dog is 1700c. Philly cheese steak 2900c.

I did not partake as I had just eaten lunch.

Were they steamed, boiled, or fried ? I like steamed with steamed buns the best. :)

Tried the dog yesterday. It was cooked on the roller type grill. Well cooked on a steamed bun. Good spicy mustard.

Had the philly cheese steak also. Thin sliced tender beef with a white cheese and onions. No peppers. It was good but a small portion , about 6 bites.

The dog with kraut was a dollar more just for the kraut.

The original Nathan's Hot Dog is fried and blackened to crispness as it is still cooked to this day in Coney Island and other places like Miami Subs.
