My guy at the Morazon does not work there any more and my group is looking for a new place to stay in SJ. I heave seen several good reviews of the Sportsmans Lodge. Can anyone give me its location in relationship to the DR. Many in the group prefer to walk around at night so we like to be close.
Thanks for any info.

Hugo,

Check out the map at the following link:
http://www.whorticulture.info/GRSJMap2.html

Sportsmen's is in the upper right corner. It's only about a 7-8 walk to the Del Rey, however, you might notice the most direct route is through Morazon Park. If you're in a group going through there, I don't think you'll have a problem, but if walking alone late you may want to think about taking a cab.

About 4 blocks Northeast of the Holiday Inn.

Calle 13, between Ave 9 and 11

I appreciate the info. Yep the park is not a nice place at night. Any other suggestions on places to stay that might be closer. The Presidente is pricey and the Balmoro is iffy on hot water.
Thanks again.
P.S. does the Sportsman have a web site?

hugo,
Here is the web site for the Sportsmens Lodge:

http://www.sportsmenscr.com/

Look on the main page of costaricaticas.com under discounts,
you will see all sorts of good things, as well as the VIP discount section.
