One thing that I think is missing on this board is the philosophy behind P4P. I'm dying to know what makes a girl decide to get in this lifestyle considering there are so many Ticas in the same dire economic situation that do NOT get involved in this lifestyle. Is it pride? Lack of self-esteem?
Dunno, but I've always figured that the initial incentive is having a K*D or two courtesy of some loser boyfriend as a teenager - my first-trip wingman and I always joke about it taking that first one to get into the business, but they gotta have two in order to get into the union. Then throw in the fact that they did get knocked up a couple times and you can probably assume they're not exactly good Catholic girls. And once they have that baggage it's probably tough to find a man to help pay for it, so there's less of an issue in dealing with the puta tag. And it's legal and an established way of life down there, which probably makes it easier than getting into it up here. So there's a big chunk of the population.
While we have never really talked about it, mi favorita got into the game after having her second, and she just turned two. Her amiga mejor is 19 and they've been friends since they were K*ds, and so I assume she got into it at the same time or later. I met an older sister (real one, I believe, although only half) last time down while having dinner at Del Mar, and she was work in KL/DR. So it's family and friends in that case, and she also hangs socially with other chicas and their Babi*s, so there's a whole world around it.

I've always wondered do they think all of us are stupid gringos? I admit it kinda irritates me that they think so less of us after taking our money. I get the impression that they actually hate us on the inside. They despise what they do for a living and they take it out on us. I have come to believe this because I was outside of the SL one night smoking a cigar. Several chicas were outside smoking cigarettes and the look on their faces was something I recognized from my manual labor days. That look of "Anywhere but here" or "I've got to get out of this line of work." It's a job to them. I get that. It's just that one would hope that they would enjoy their job enough to where they would look forward to making a decent sum of money and being content with that rather than hitting us up for RFM's or other hustles. I respect them and the service they provide. I just wish that respect was returned in kind.
Well, there's part of the daily challenge, right? I mean, it's not always enough to just have a go with these girls, one tends to want to make some connection, develop an understanding, something, and make one of these chicas actually
like you, despite all that stuff. I'm not talking about love or anything, rather just glad to see you're in town, and not just because of the dinero in your pocket. Of course, being able to hablo has got to be a huge advantage there.

I hear ya Nick, but the thing is that I have never seen the attraction to the girls that NEED help. Just me, but if they NEED help there is a reason. Not judging, just am not attracted to the ones that live in poverty and have sad stories. Everybody has their own thing, but when I play I don't want to hear about the drudgery of Babi*s and sick mommas and lost cell phones and the such. That would be too much like having a girlfriend.

That's why they call it GFE, I guess. It seems likely in most cases that this stuff kind of surfaces over time, once there's a comfort zone and she feels like a beachhead is fully established. These girls all have their bad days, and I just can't see myself say, "Yeah, yeah, now let's get back to how sexy and wonderful I am!". There's a point where anyone is going to start wondering why they laid out the cash for a plane ticket and more for the 60 minutes, of course, coulda got that at home. But I don't mind a dash of reality in my soup...
