But seriously, it on the same block as Harry's Poas Bar and across the street from Hotel Santo Tomas. I think it's called Pangea or something like that. No windows or signs so you wouldn't know it was there.

Actually Pangea is a big hostel (great rooftop bar) though they may rent out space street-level for this gym:

TW, I've done that walk up that hill back to the Amistad countless times, it is good exercise alright, I can power my way up with no problem. :D I don't think it's any steeper than other hills, but it does go on for several blocks.

That fitness gym that's "up the hill" from HLH is reached by taking a left out of HLH's door, going one block to Ave 7, then turn left, it's located between Calle 3b and 5. Look through a window and you'll see exercise equipment.

Was in there a few months ago. If I remember correctly the gal that owns/runs the gym wants $4.00 to train there.

Been lazy these past months and finally went in for first time this morning. 19,500 colones per month was a little higher than I wanted to pay. Thinking I could use that amount for a couple of months to put together a simple makeshift gym and do my cardio by running in the area. I do like hitting the weights though.

For a more bigger and comprehensive gym, check out the Multi Spa. I will be there at the end of the week.

Where is multi spa? I know it will have to be close for me. I like to pop in a couple times a day sometimes. Good stress relief.

For many years, Multi-Spa at Parque Central has probably been the most complete gym for guys in the gulch area. They will be closing their doors as of the end of May. They lost their lease. They'll be opening an all new facility in Tibás in September which will include all new equipment, a pool, steam room and jacuzzi (although I can think of better places to enjoy steam rooms and jacuzzis while in CR.)
The new location is about a five minute cab ride from Barrio Amón.

Been going to the one up the hill from HLH the last couple of months. It is 19,000 per month. It is an ok gym, nothing special. Gonna buy a few things and do p90x at home after this month, with rainy season coming. Seems like also I saw a gym down in the general vicinity of the Presidente that looked about ready to open a couple months back.
