Golfer- What ever happened to the La Vida Loca Beach Bar and Grill in Playas Del Coco? Met the owner, Jim, at the border of Nicaragua one day. Was nice enough to pull me off the TicaBus and give me a ride on to Rivas and spent the night there showing me around before heading to Grenada. GREAT guy and from the way he talked, his bar had a lot of P4P. I just never made it back that way to see him so no real info. Thanks for your excellent post on the area!

My apologies! I forgot all together about La Vida Loca! This location is pretty cool and the decor is interesting. First there is a ratty old hand made walking bridge to get to the joint. Pretty good showing from the long time patrons to help rebuild it a year or so ago after it washed away in a big storm swell. Jim Bo is a good guy, a bit of a absolute drunk but a good guy. P4P in the bar? Not seem a puta in that place under the age of about 50 or under 170 pounds in my lifetime.... just telling the truth as harsh as it may sound.

Good place to watch college football, Jim Bo is a given to have Oregon Ducks football and basketball games. He is a raging Oregon alumni who cheers his team well!

Do not EVER attempt to drive across the estuary to get to the place... seen photos of even a big tough Range Rover and a Hummer not make it through it. So there is a great chance your rental car ain't going to make it either.

on a bit of a side note... on Facebook there are two profiles for a long time resident who has a great foto history of Coco and some good information about the various places and activities. In the interest of the guy's privacy I will keep his name private but he has recently started a second page to house new photo albums of the area, that profile is Papa Rooster. If you are really interested in Coco stuff PM me and I will send you his name for the older albums.

The info provided by CR Golfer is spot on. Over the course of a several hour period of bar hoping on a Friday night, I saw 7 or 8 chicas who were clearly working at the three bars listed. Three were very attractive, a couple doable, a few not. Each was sitting by herself, and made extremly long eye contact and a couple knowing head movments. It was clear, yet not in your face. I was not in a position to partake, but most certainly would have. There were also a few chicas in front of the Casino- one a 5, one a 6, the other a 7, in terms of looks. Clearlly, pfp is on the menu if you find yourself in this part of the country and need to meet some "freinds."

Glad you enjoyed! Next time send me a PM and say hello when in town! No Pops's tour here but a long time resident in his 30's who is never going back home!
