Interesting......Hotel Santo Tomas now allowing chicas, albeit a $15 fee.

The owner [a very nice gentleman] took me on a tour of the place about five years ago. I was impressed with it. He had told me the policy was no chicas at the time, but after sizing me up and assuming I would be discreet, told me he would let the policy slide for me. For whatever reason, I didn't end up staying there. At the time, I did notice the office people and desk clerk giving me a wary eye [you know the look......

"Oh, one of those gringo sex mongers"]. Maybe that was the reason I didn't stay. Definitely a nice place with a nice swimming pool and an impressive looking little restaurant close to the pool.
I wonder too....could the bad US economy be forcing the hotels to relax their chica policies??

I think the Hemingway Inn is another example of a relaxed chica policy. Five years ago, they seemed to be more anti-chica/monger than they are today.
