How safe is it to walk from the Blue Marlin Bar through the Hotel Del Rey Casino to the bathroom? Will I be accosted?

If you are going to do it................. I have read on this forum, that you should walk down to the corner, head up the block from the casino and flag down a guy driving up the street. You are to do this to avoid getting riped off by the taxis that wait outside the DR door.

I usaully tip one of the guards at the Rey to walk over with me, if one is not available I wait until the policia are coming by, then I tip one of them. Haven't had a problem yet, but you never know. If all else fails and I'm unable to get an escort over, I book a room @ the Rey and wait for daylight. I have been accosted many times by women of questionable character while I am being escorted over. Oh yeah, I think there are prostitutes in both places so be careful.

It is a dangerous walk! I swear, one night with heavy traffic, while waiting to cross the street, I was offered watches (and I bought two, so now all the vendors see the big sucker) and more watches, viagra, condoms, cigars, apples, sunglasses, shoeshines and maps. Am I missing anything? All before I actually crossed the street. Oh by the way, both watches broke within the year, but they sure are perty.

Is it really that dangerous walking around the gulch or is everyone just a little paranoid? From what I read on here you will get mugged out in the middle of the street in front of cops and al the other guys that cant get girls back in the states. How much truth is there to this?

You know what's sad sometimes... is that a lot of the pretty boys in Morazon and the Parque Espana look better then many of the chicas at the KL some nights And is it my imagination, or are there like 3 or 4 times as many of them this year? It's like Thailand West.
