Ike & Tina Turner Review (She was super hot in 1965)
Janis Joplin (Tanked and wailin')
Sly & The Family Stone (Stoned, but jammed)
Black Sabbath/Grand Funk Railroad (two hits of blotter may have enhanced it)
Eagles/Jimmy Buffet/Linda Ronstadt (In Sacramento, CA outside 110 degrees that day)
The Who (Classic who)
Paul McCartney (Seemed like every song was a number one)
Rod Piazza & The Mighty Flyers (Lite the bar on fire while dancing & playing his harmonica on top)

When I first looked at the title, the first thing that came to my mind was the stripper at the Centro Club in MDE getting done doggie on stage with a couple of hundred people watching.

Health & happiness to all..........

I was lucky enough to come of age during the greatest era for music in American history. It was an incredible time to be young!

Emoticons to the contrary, I have no trouble believing this. Some folks who are maybe lame-o's on record* come alive on stage with the right audience on the right night. The reverse is true also, natch.

* I am not calling Barry Manilow a lame-o--not conventionally hip maybe but that's not the same thing.
Oh, and BTW Brother El Tranquilo is hands-down the musical eclectic among us--any Brothers like a wider range of music?

I'm sorry I never saw Supertramp live. What a band! Extremely talented musicians, and somewhat underrated. To this day, their album 'Crime of the Century', in my opinion, ranks as one of the best ever recorded. It's too bad Richard Davies and Roger Hodgson had their differences. Kind of reminds me of Pink Floyd's David Gilmour and Roger Waters.

when you say hottest i think of just smokin rock and roll. for that i would say...

chili peppers numerous times
mars volta numerous times
pink floyd numerous including the wall
bowie three times including his last tour reality prior to his heart issues
radiohead many times
stone temple pilots
steely dan numerous incl last tour with larry carlton that was amazing
stones
the verve
robin trower was awesome

but the hottest live show i ever saw was probably at little club in reseda when i was so fortunate to catch humble pie with steve marriot. it was probably the most intense because of the proximity and if anyone else ever saw marriot perform enough said.

in a foot note i will be taking my daughter to see justin beiber in october.

The Eagles and The Who together in Tampa Stadium in the 70's It was such a wild event the city refused to hold another concert in Tampa Stadium for over ten years. People from the outside who did not have tickets crashed the gates and got inside. It took over 3 hours to empty the stadium after the event was over! No one wanted to leave! The Weed cloud hung in the air over the stadium like a rain cloud. Ahhhh the 70's..... :D :D

Next would be Jimmy Buffet in the Lakeland Civic Center in the early 80's. I'm not sure they ever got the Weed cloud out of the building. It was raining really hard outside and no one wanted to leave. The Parrot Head Club kept things going after Jimmy left the building.  :D

After that would be the Hardest Workin Man in Show Bizness - Mr. James Brown in Club Eaton in Orlando in 1965. My friend and I were the only two white guys in the bar! The doors opened at 8PM with Bobby Blue Bland and Moms Mabley ("Always say something good about the dearly departed...he's dead...good!") doing the warm up. James Brown came on about 11:00 and played for 3 hours. I think he even repeated some songs, but with James Brown they all seem to meld together after a while and no one cared. The place was wild! I got my first black pu*sy that night! :D

The Clash on a pier in the Hudson River in the Summer of '82. A thunderstorm rolled in and we got drenched, and then while they were ripping through "White Riot," lightening hit the stage, there was big explosion and everything went dark...It was an amazing end to a show.
