Okay, My Reservations are made for SL, flight is paid, reservations for a couple nights in Jaco (over a weekend), I am reading, and reading, and prepping, and paid for a membership

I have spanish to english apps ready to go on my iPhone, maps downloaded, and will be trying to practice some before I go.
Couple of questions that have basically arose because of so much info from all over: (and yes I have used and continue to use the search link)
1. I understand its better to negotiate in CR currency (not sure of colon vs colonies yet). True/False?
2. Cien ($100 or 50,000c? [...which is better given the exchange rate]) is the rate for 3hrs? How about overnight (this is where I was confused, thought I saw somewhere 100-180 nite how much in CR currency?)? My preference is overnight if the expectation is I can get some 2am and/or 8am action.
3. Based on your previous reply to my post, would it just be better to pick someone up in Jaco? Of course this gives me the option of just R&R on the beach without a tag-along. If the options are there (attractive), then this seems to be the way to go. Plus I can find something to do on the water for a day.
4. I noticed VIP discount for a service that goes from San Jose - Jaco and back. Is this basically the same thing as the Interbus link you posted (but more expensive). Any benefits of Interbus vs taxi vs service? If not, then the winner would seem to be interbus (bus just has a bad conotation - looks to be more like a van

).
Thank you for clarifying or pointing me to a missed post.
There are some pretty good people on this sight and some true veterans so you'll get a buffet of answers. Although not quite a rookie, I'm not quite a veteran either. Here's my opinion:
1. Negotiations are a fluid thing. Some girls prefer dollars so they don't spend it that night. Others prefer colons. Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Have money in your pocket. I usually carry all colons on me.
2. You might not want an all night excursion. Get to the SL. It's not a matter of "if" you're gonna get lucky. It's more a matter of how many times are you gonna get lucky. When you're a rookie you get too anxcious and pay whatever they say. As you become more experienced, you get much better at the negociation process. I have negotiated for just an hour and sometimes it lasts all night long. Have fun, relax, and know some spanish.
3. Been to Jaco. I liked it, but I've been to better beaches. People are nice and I really enjoyed myself at Clarita's. Good bartenders, reasonable rates, inexpensive food. At night you have a buffet of women at the Beatle Bar. Something for everyone. Careful, the women are used to people with tons of money that came around to fish. You don't have to bring someone to Jaco.
4. Search around the sight for transportation. When I booked Claritas, I asked them for transportation and they gave me a perfect taxi for $90.
The best piece of advice that was given to me was don't set any plans in stone. Go with the flow. Don't be afraid to break plans in Jaco if you're having a great time in SJ. You can do a lot of day activities in SJ. Ask people questions on the board. These guys are great.
Learning Spanish would be your best asset. Bring a sense of humor and you'll be set. You don't have to alpha dog it in CR. If people can tell you're having fun, it can be contagious.
Whatever you do...Don't fall in love!!!!
Enjoy!
