Showed us the best places and all the hidden spots to get what ever we wanted. Was on time and had a clean van with bangin sound system.

Brother Cwallace bring us a solid lead for a Jaco ride. Thanks for the heads up.

Fella's,

2 thumbs up, 5 stars. For Gustavo from SL. 2 other brothers and I hired him for 4 days. It was my 7th tip to CR and he was the best driver with the best van I had ever had. He know everyone and can get what you want. We went on a bad 4 day bender in Jaco. He kept us all alive and safe! BTW, I found his contact on this board. So thanks to who ever mentioned his name.

I have used Jose Alvarez from Sportsmens Lodge to go to La Fortuna and back. He is dependable and really goes out of his way to help you enjoy your trip. For example, he made multiple pit stops along the way to La Fortuna to personally show me points of interest off the route. He speaks excellent English as well.

Jose gave me 5 hours there for $100. And as GPower stated, he can take you to the best ceviche you will ever have in your life.

Alonso Castro - 8880-3019

I met Alonso 3 years ago while on one of my many vacations to Costa Rica, I decided to teach English here in this wonderful country and starting seeing Alonso more often....long story short 3 years later we were married and started CostaRica PuraVida Tours...which is on the rise, but in the mean time Alonso drives our 2009 Toyota Altessa and has been working as a taxi driver in the San Jose area for over 10 years.

Please feel free to contact him for any transfers in and around Costa Rica and you can also email me for whatever questions you may have about visiting Costa Rica.

Eduardo at the Dunn Inn is good for local or to Escazu
at least. Doesn't speak much english, but he is honest,
and will happily teach you a bit of spanish along the way. He has been good and reasonable for local trips. Gato at the Sportsman's is great, and honest, as well.
Some drivers are so honest it will nearly make you cry,
the only scammers I've run into recently were at El Presidente, quoted $5 to the Dunn Inn - under 1000
colones is more proper.

A good driver for around town and going to the airport is "Sergio Morillo". He works at the Dunn Inn. Speaks a little english and is very friendly and reliable. He took me from Dunn Inn to Idem a couple of times for only 1000c and to the airport for $20.
Phone: (506) 8390-36-72
email: sermuz@latinmail.com or sermuz43@hotmail.com
Seems to me the best place these days for a newbie is to deal with the Dunn Inn hotel and staff. Least chance of being ripped off before you get you feet wet in CR.
