The reason so many of us like the bar scene at the SL, BM ahd KL is because it gives us the sensation of picking up a girl in a bar "back home". This is the reason why so many of us travel to CR to begin with.

I might still possible be able to go out at home and pick up somebody but it is more likely to be a 40+ yo divorcee rather than a 20 yo hottie.

Personally Im a pacifist now and would never scrap with someone over a Puta but when Im on vacation please don't rain on my parade, so to speak.

At HDR happy hr. one night some drunken young guys at the next table got into it over a working girl, it was quite entertaining. They were probably best friends yet one started screaming at the other when his buddy walked up freshly laid with a chica on his arm "You knew I liked that girl and you phucked her anyway!? You're such an a-hole!" It was like they were in high school, we were cracking up. Some guys can't get a grip on P4P reality.

I see the HDR and SL as two pretty different places. I would never take a girl to the HDR but have no problem with taking them to the SL. SL is much more laid back than the HDR.

One good practice is to make the girl absolutely aware of your intentions. If you are just buying her a drink and have no intention of taking her, let her know. By the same token, if you want to do her but not right this moment, let her know. Do the negocio on the front end and get all the details out of the way. Be very clear: You want her for $XX for xx time but you want to have a few drinks and party with her for awhile first. You are monopolizing her time so be prepared to pay for it (decreases to a non-point if you have an on-going thing with her).

Some girls don't like this arrangement because she is off the market while she is BSing with you. If she is a popular girl and was hoping for multiple engagements she may not want to sit with you and drink. On the other hand, there are tons of girls who are just delighted to be off the market for the evening with a payday assured. Try not to mistake one for the other.

Tentative will get your feelings hurt. In my opinion, this is where most of the problems arise. When a monger is monopolizing a girls time and can't make up his mind he is setting himself up for frustration. She doesn't know if she is "busy" of not. Some guy who has done her before is giving her the eye from across the room. The tentative monger is sensing that he is losing her attention and that does not help with his negocio. Soon, she decides he is wasting her time and starts trying to eject. Mr. Tentative is left sitting alone, pissed at the monger who knew what he wanted.

How do you avoid being tentative? It goes away with experience. There are some things you can do to help get over the hump:
- Plant seeds. If you see a girl that you might be interested in, go introduce yourself. Tell her you like her whatever and you might be interested in seeing her later. Now remember her name and when you are ready to negocio you are not strangers.

- Ask other mongers, especially the locals. Get a couple good reports and your decision anxiety should be lessened somewhat. The guys who have a steady girl here can really be a help. We know most of the girls, their reputations, etc.

- Come up with several openings. Yeah, you like the sexy way she looks but you need some kind of ammo when you approach her besides "come here often" and "how long have you been in this line of work". If you seem confident and self assured you are much more likely to get her confident, self assured response. She thinks you know what you are doing and the negocio goes much smoother.

- Watch what's going on. It may take a little time to figure out who is with who and who is "working". This can not only save some face but can give you a good idea of who to ask for info. For example, if you see my girl talking to a group of girls and you are interested in one of them come bump my elbow. I can give you the scoop and arrange an intro or point you in another direction.

The HDR is pure cutthroat. A favorito can pull a girl right off your lap with a finger wave from across the room at the HDR. Not the same at all at the SL although it does happen.

I think someone posted earlier in the thread, and I agree, that there are so many chicas in said spots that so what. Ok, I'm lazy, but I never put too much thought into it. If a chica wanted to leave, big deal, dozens of others around. And back in the day, when I had a few favoritas and hung out in the gulch alot, I would totally tell a chica to leave me if she had a big payday from another guy.
