The thing about Jim Thome is that you are getting a dead solid veteran player who's been to the mountaintop--like the Phillies with Jamie Moyer, not only a good player but also an ad hoc coach, a steadying influence. Tough to measure that influence but it's undeniably real.

it will be interesting end to the season. i would not miss a thing but i would be lying if i was to say i was overly optimistic.
sure hope we can start hitting again

Still 5 games up... Manny coming around....Ethier now prime time... its all good ...look at the schedule...Nationals Pirates and Pods....then 3 at home against the rockies...if they blow this we gonna have to start looking for some stinky goat in LA :lol:

was at last nights game.
the team is hitting no doubt and with the magic number at 10 it is hard to see us phucking this up
however. martin in the two? wtf is that? this dude is just lost and deserves to be an eight hitter all year. torre baffles me at times
billingsley has a vagina. i am sick of seeing this guy get tattooed. even coming out of the bully last night he gave up 3.
we make the playoffs and likely win the west but not really that confident of how we stack up against the st louis' and spankees of the world. just being realistic here.

Instead,,,have an idea...why not set aside your vitriol at least here in THIS thread where we actually DO share some common round? You've indicated a fondness for the Dodgers baseball club at some point in your long life's journey...SO, why not join me, LaDiablo, and others, and throw out some POSITIVE ENERGY for a change? And when I am in town next week I'll buy you your favorite beverage at the SL as we watch Mannywood & Company in the 2nd round of the playoffs (espero!)while we reminisce about the Boys of Summer whom you remember fondly! Like fasther and son!!And if you are REALLY good and the Dodgers win we'll stroll down to the Mansion where I will pony up for that session I still owe ya!
