I'd rather be working.
For the second time I am not and I F'ing hate it. I want to contribute to society but feel like I am a burden on society because I am un-employed.

Regardless of who is to blame and the decisions made by company executives who and why some stay and some go the situation stinks. Not just mine but anyone else in the same position.

The issue, IMHO, is NO ONE is doing anything to improve the job market and get people back to work. WHY ?
We all know that people pay their taxes (for the most part) and spend money when they are working. When they are not, the money is spent on necessities.

I have submitted close to 1200 resumes to different companies and followed up with as many as possible. Too many companies allow you to post your resume online but do not give you any way of following up, AS YOU SHOULD DO. Why do they not provide contact numbers ? so you can follow up. And Why don't they send you an email saying something like "We have reviewed your qualifications but currently do not have any positions available". Most companies acknowledge receipt of your resume and say "they will be in touch"; BS.

I feel sorry for all College grad's as they are in worse shape than the rest of us. At least we have some experience in our field of expertise. Granted many of us are "overqualified" which to me is a PC way of saying to old.

Agree with what others have said and implied, a foolish thread that: 1) spits in the face of the board's guidelines, and really just seeks to be argumentative; 2) posits an either or question that is not.....

Support the removal of this.

It was meant to be a light hearted jab at one of our buddies nothing more....some guys decided to take it for a serious discussion...it was never intended to be that. it was a JOKE...on the SMACK TALK section....Man....inappropriate reactions like yours are why people are leaving the board :roll:
