I am not sure if anyone has ever been to Gaira before and gave it a review so I will. I had the pleasure of going there Saturday night with my favorita. It is in Escazu maybe a 15 minute taxi ride from the SL or HDR. I was told it was considered to be one of the premier Disco's in all of Central America. I had a table in the VIP section. You buy alcohol by the bottle there. There were 7 of us in my party so we got a bottle of Grey Goose, a bottle of Jack Daniel's, a bottle of Hypnotik, food, mixers, and an exhorbitant amount of red bulls. The music was great, the girls were beautiful, the mood was awesome, and the waiters in the VIP area were always right on top of things. The check.....pretty expensive. But in comparison to what it would have been at the same type of club back home with the same beverages it was not so bad. Coupled in with the fact that the non-pro I was with I would give my left n*t for, it was a great night and well worth it! Got to meet and great a bunch of locals as well. It was a well needed break from the gulch for a night.

I would take that "premier disco in all of central america" with a grain of salt. I've never been there. Never even heard of it, and I live in Escazu. Where precisely was it?

Ok a little more info on the place: it just recently opened up in 2009. That may be the reason you have never heard of it. The address I got for it is Contiguo a Ferreteria Epa (Antiguo Salomon), Escazu, Costa Rica. Also I recommend paying your tab with a credit card. When I got the bill it was for so and so colones or $451 USD. I paid with my credit card and when I checked my statement today I was only charged $419 USD. So they must not offer a good exchange rate there. So either pay in colones or by credit card. And no, I did not pay the whole $419, I just put it on my card!
