I just booked Continental non-stop from Houston for my October trip for $358 including tax. To get this price you have to leave and return Tuesday thru Thursday and stay for 7 days. This is the best deal I have seen from Houston since I started going to CR a couple of years ago. Other days of the week are about $100 more. Check it out, I think this is a short time deal.

Someone please tell me why I could book a round trip ticket today on Continental from Chicago through Houston for $291. after taxes and fees in May. Airline pricing is nuts.

Yes, just paid $288 for RT from Chicago to CR. Hit the Continental website directly.

I never really could understand that myself. I usually see prices from Houston between 500-600 but coming from anywhere else and stopping in Houston cost half as much. Also, it is more expensive to go from Houston through New York or Atlanta and then to CR. I just figured you were paying for the miles on those trips though.

I'll tell you why, it's the same answer I wrote in the "Detroit" thread and in this thread a few weeks ago:

You can thank Spirit Airlines.
