I was looking on tripadvisor today and one of the reviews of the santo tomas said it was chica friendly. It didnt say what the fee was though. I was kind of considering this hotel for a few nights as they have a (small) pool but a pool nonethe less........

The Santo Tomas does indeed have a pool but to my knowledge it's not heated and in SJO even in August/ September that water stays chilly. If memory serves, a "Search" will find this issue of swimming pools discussed somewhere here. It's a nice place to breakfast overlooking the pool though. If you stay there and monger elsewhere, ask for the room next to the pool. Nice French doors leading out to the pool area.

Thanks for that QBF..........I will pass on that one especialy since I was told it rains all the time in August anyway and wont use the pool. I wasnt aware that August was the middle of the rainy season. Maybe I will choose another month. Anyway..........SL and Amistad are sounding better and better all the time!!
