I thought the woman was fairly measured in her commentary considering her gringa view of the world

yeah she was not passing judgement on the behavior imo, just saying it wasn't what she expected
sort of like that occasional couple walking into sportsmans for a beer and bar food to watch the game
that can be priceless as they try to figure out what to do

Gentlemen:
The sponsor will address these comments directly but I would point out the original post taken from another site was well before their renovations and the only negative comment on the site is a Non VIP, who obviously has a "BUG" up his butt about the place..

aside from that I will leave the response to the sponsor.

Guys, they have the best beds in all of Costa Rica

The Hotel has been updated and has a wonderful staff. If you have any suggestions or recomendations, please call the Manager Isabel at 512-535-1850 anytime. They are very special people. As to the paper walls, they have been remolding all of the rooms with double insulated accostical panels on each wall. The historical section has been complete and the east wing will be completed next month.

Might want to check your link. Unless Costa Rica moved to North Carolina.

I can imagine the way she probably said the word "prostitute" in that typical snotty gringa way. Kind of like Dan Akroid said to Jaime Lee Curtis in "Trading Places".

ok, so i find myself at the clarion casino for a minute and look across the street and there is dunn inn, so i decide to check it out.
downstairs bar and eating areas look really nice and ask the lady at the desk to see a room.
she seems kind of bothered but takes me up anyway. first room she opens the door and yep a big mfing COCKROACH is in the middle of the wall. i point this out and she verifies that yes indeed that is a cockroach.
also the rooms smelled pretty dank imho. fwiw

The 2 seriously negative reviews on TA that weren't answered were from folks who hadn't done their homework ( steep hills in SJ?? Who'da thunk it??). All the other commentaters knew what's what and were uniformly praising. That cockroach? As Microsoft continuously reminds us--They're not bugs, they're features--free protein and if you dip'em in chocolate...
Great place to stay and improving. And Hey don't tell her esposo/ novio but I got a little thing for Isabel. Something about those specs...

Personally I would call the walk from the zoo, past the Dunn Inn, and over to the Sportsmens a steep hill.

The Dunn Inn is apparently for sale:

Oh, I agree that's a steep hill but even a little homework would show it's an expected steep hill. Also Taxis are frequent on that street.
About the Dunn Inn being for sale--the consensus on your link suggests otherwise.

Look closely and you'll see I'm part of that consensus.
