Just 2 nights the best plan is just get a nice room like HLH, SL suite and test the waters to find a tour guide for your next trip.

There's a tiny place in downtown with a few bars, hotels, where many pastey white fat gringo tourists clad in shorts and Hawaian shirts can be seen, and girls of questionable nature hang out.....This place I speak is called.....

THE GRINGO GULCH........

hell for some.....paradise for most!

Stay there brother and don't think about leaving. Leave the sight seeing for your next trip when you have more time.....and that's when the real test begins.....the test of your intestinal fortitude.....CAN YOU AND WILL YOU BE ABLE TO LEAVE......THE GULCH!

STOP THE INSANITY!!!

I'd vote for Sportsman's Lodge. HDR is a little much to toss someone into with no background and no wingman. Go to SL and you can hit the ground running. HDR is a five minute cab ride away.

Pac is correct. Walking into SL is like a free pass to heaven, But, a newbie with no experience walking into Del Rey cold with no wingman could be like a bad trip on LSD.

AAAAAHHHHHHHHH! Takes me back to my first "Jap lap" in there. And it was on a very busy Thursday night. What memories. What sensory overload.....and the newness of it all. Now it is seems so familiar...but the sensory overload is still there. But, that first time

Solid advice from all the above Brothers--but for your 2nd trip and subsequent, plan your ass off then be prepared to abandon them all at a moment's notice when somebody says "Hey, let's go to the...".
