I am a member of a lot of frequent fler programs but have not used my points to CR my most common spot. So I am planning on eliminating some of the programs for the best for redemption. Anyone can make recommendations. I tend to fly alot on continental, but i heart the points are hard to redeem.

Really depends on where you fly from. I have multiple choices in regards to carriers. While I'll pay a small difference to stay on a frequent flyer program in the end I go with price.

I used a free Continental flight last year and had no problems. Several options to choose from. Going on a free American flight in March and the options sucked. From Austin, Tx. to SJ is 3 flights and coming back is 4 flights. Total of 14 hours coming back.

I think Spanky stated it correctly. Probably depends where you fly from and also the time of year.

Out of Atlanta the Delta Skymiles program works for me. With them its straight up 10,000 miles for 100.00 off fare. You can pay part or all with miles. I have been down eight times this year, I pay when fare is less than 300.00 and use miles when it is more.

Agreed..depends on departure site. I fly out of S. Fla, so I use both Spirit and AA. Just hit my 15,000 on Spirit so next trip is a "freebie".

check Alaskan airlines, they have multiple airline partners which makes things more flexible to rack up the miles
