I just got back from an incredible trip to San Jose. It's 2 in the morning and I'm beat from traveling all day. But I just wanted to mention how really good Interbus is to use for an airport shuttle. They were waiting for me when I arrived at SJO and right on time to take me to the airport this morning. I was the only passenger both ways and only cost $10 each way. :D Beats the hellout of using a taxi from the airport. 8)

Looks like they had a rate increase, it was 7.00. Someone posted taxi is now 25.00 from airport?

The first several times I used Interbus they were great. Two trips ago I used them for the return trip to the airport. I was the first to be picked up then we drove around in circles over and over while the directionally challenged driver asked 5-10 people on the street where each little boutique hotel was located for the next few stops. I was lucky and didn't have a line at the airport counter to check in otherwise I probably would have missed my flight.

My last trip I heard they were going to raise their rates soon, so I booked them for an airport pickup. They had someone with my name on a sign waiting, only the driver was still in San Jose. After waiting over 50 minutes, the K*D with the sign walked me across the street and upstairs. After another 5 minutes Interbus showed up to drop off a load of departures and I was finally on my way.

I just booked them ( Interbus) through Service Costa Rica Travel Ag. for a Feb '09 trip. Their price was 9.50 each way. I used them last time and they were great. About 6 weeks ago I paid $6 or $7 each way. Good service.

I've always had good things about interbus from the airport they always had the sign waiting for me. But never do them for the airport return they like to pick you up 4 hours or so before the flight.

If you read Skink's post above, you'll know why they pick up 4 hours before. This is the only reason that I don't use them TO the airport. They've always been great FROM the airport.

BondTrader ~ were you on Continental out of Houston last Thursday. Lots of guys in the Monger uniform - Aloha shirt, blue jeans extra fit sytle, white tennis shoes, and drool emitting from the sides of their mouths as we neared SJO. I was one of them.

the first time i used them in july was excellent. they were waiting for me with my name on a card as soon as i hit the glass hallway. the van was there within minutes and we took off immediately and i was at my hotel with 20 minutes. this time (10 days ago) i had to hunt them down on the street and waited over 40 minutes for the other passengers. they dropped off the others first and this took another 40 minutes and then a 30 minute ride to my hotel. 2 hours to save $15!? next time, i'll pay the extra $15 for a taxi. it is just not worth the hit and miss performance and a bad way to start off a vacation.

Sounds like Super Shuttle. Some times they are really good and you get to your destination quickly. But when they are bad, thye are bad. Just hope you brought a pillow because it will be a long wait and a longer drive.

I swear that that same EXACT dress code can also be found on flights into BKK as well. I guess the Monger uniform doesn't vary region to region. :P
