Hotel La Amistad and Hotel Castillo are quiet and nice. Sportsmans Lodge is nice and much like a clubhouse. Can be noisy at night if you have one of the courtyard rooms. Hotel Del Rey is like a frat house / wh@re house in party central. Hotel Little Havana is also for high energy girl chasers. All hotels above are chica friendly. Do some more searching on the hotels thread to find a place to match your needs.

HOTEL DEL REY !!!! Your 1st trip ? ...with friends ??? HOTEL DEL REY ! Do not pass GO - Do not collect $200 !!!! It's not the 4-Seasons, but I've heard that - in the past - guys have taken chica's up to their rooms there without any problems! :P

Enjoy yourself, and don't look anywhere else. You'll be back, that's for sure. And you can check out other hotels on future trips, but for your 1st trip, with friends.... just DO IT ! HOTEL DEL REY ! :o

MG, I love you brother, but PLEASE! Tell me you're not one of the HDR freaks...

That place is a sty, overpriced, and boorish...

In all reality, finding a high class hotel that is chica friendly is hard... I think of the ones I like, all but Freebird have been mentioned...

For a first timer, it has to be the Del Rey. Future trips, stay wherever you want. But for your initial trip, the belly of the beast is where its at. I'm a big SL guy myself, but for a rookie, go to ground zero.

hey! I resemble that!

As much as I prefer the HLH, I'd have to concur, go to the Del Rey and then for future visits start looking elsewhere, chances are for your first trip, you'll spend most of your time there anyways

Thanks guys for the info, one of my friends buddy's stayed at the Presadente last year and said he had no problem there, but I read in your forums that it's not chica friendly anymore, is that correct?

QBF,

No problem amigo. I can feel the love !!!! I am in no way a "HDR freak". Matter of fact, the last time I stayed at the HDR was in 2005. And I have no desire to stay there again. Been there, done that! 8)

Sty? Overpriced? Boorish ? No argument here! But I wasn't the one who was looking for opinions on a place to stay for a 1st timer and some friends. I'm sorry, but many (if not the majority) of us know the scene pretty well. But in my opinion, staying in the BELLY OF THE BEAST for your 1st trip is almost a rite of passage. It's something you gotta experience once, and I think it's best to do it on your virgin voyage to the Gulch, since you don't know any better yet! Naturally, YMMV.

Some guys only stay at the HDR on their 1st trip, and then find some other accomodations for their future trips. Some guys won't stay anywhere else BUT the HDR. And some guys NEVER LEAVE THE HDR !!! But there always seems to be one common occurrence after your first trip to SJO.... they ALWAYS return for another!

Of course there's lots of choices for hotels in and around the gulch. And in my original post on this topic, I made it very clear that the HDR is certainly not a 4-Seasons type of hotel, with valet parking, luxury accomodations, Egyptian linens and a complimentary mini bar.

Simply put, the HDR is what it is. A convenient, first-timer-user-friendly hotel, with plenty of available chica's only a 10 second elevator ride away. Is it the best hotel in the gulch ?? NOT EVEN CLOSE! But for a newbie, I wouldn't recommend anywhere else. Even though it can be a bit overwhelming for a 1st timer, what better way to get your feet wet!

Once again....... YMMV ! :o

JMStaff, welcome to CRT! :D

If you want trial by fire and to hit the ground running, the Hotel del Rey would be a good choice. However, keep the following in mind:

1. There are better, chica-friendly rooms elsewhere and at a substantially lower price.

2. The hotel charges a $10.00 "guest fee" everytime you bring a girl upstairs. One chica per day wouldn't stress the wallet too much, but the fees can really add up for multiple girls/nights.

3. The hotel is IMHO of lower quality than a Motel 6 or Super 8 here in the U.S. It's fairly well-maintained, but I like the ambience and facilities of other hotels better.

4. There are less expensive hotel bars than the Blue Marlin. Okay, most of the other hotel bars don't have working girls stacked four high, but their drink prics are cheaper.

5. Finally, while you're close to everything at the HDR, you might not like the neighborhood. If street hustlers, beggars and other nefarious types bother, you might not want to even leave the Del Rey at night. Then again, you won't have to. :)

Just a few thoughts. Too bad the Sportsmen's is not available this close to February. Still, it wouldn't hurt to shoot them an e-mail to inquire about vacancies:
info@sportsmenscr.com .

Good luck, and enjoy your trip.

For your first trip:

Stay nowhere else but HDR

As MG said:

No taxi rides
No hassles
No walking at night
You don't even need to leave the hotel

You will thank us later 8)
